Does the GDI domain and hosting service support:
1) php scripting
2) java scripting/DHTML
3) flash/Shockwave
4) SQL databases
5) Custom cronjobs
6) blogging (preferably wordpress)
7) Perl 5
8) Python
9) real audio & video support
10) macromedia shockwave
11) midi file support
from the bit of research I did, the answer was "no" to most of these.
the reason i wanted these answered is because in reselling the domain and hosting service as a GDI distributor, i wanted to make sure the service was at least on par with industry standards. my finding was that there are competing services who offer better hosting packages with better prices.

Hi primax,
I agree that GDI hosting is pretty basic and you are right that it does not have the capability to support server side scripts you listed above. GDI's main product is domain names plus an MLM opportunity . They have recently expanded their domain registration service to include .com / .net and other tlds besides .ws. This means that there is a possibility for GDI to increase their hosting features as well.
There are many good hosts around that offer all that you need for a minimal cost or even free, however they don't have the compensation structure like GDI. On top of that, GDI has also put in place a reasonably effective lead capture and marketing system which you won't find in other hosting companies that offer simple multi-tiered affiliate commissions. Kindly also note that GDI's target clients are everyday people with little web host knowledge who are looking for basic internet presence & emailing solution, not webmasters.
So I think we can't really compare GDI's hosting package with other hosting companies. For example we don't compare Godaddy with Hostgator. Although both companies offer hosting solutions but Godaddy's focus is primarily on domain management, so it's hosting package is far less attractive then what Hostgator has to offer.
I hope this post answers your question. GDI is a great opportunity especially for internet marketers. With your tech background, you can easily be a leader in this GDI opportunity. Many who join are lost as to how to make better use of their domain names. Imagine how much they would love to learn from a knowledgeable upline like yourself. :)

P.S: I have compiled a list of good & free hosts offering most of the features that you listed. You can transfer your GDI domain name to them. Drop me a message and I will send you the free hosts list.
