I'm just thinking worst case scenario but if the internet was ever not available to us for any length of time, would your business still flourish! The internet is a luxury many of us business owners have come to appreciate. But entrepreneurs promoting goods and opportunities have been around forever. Your ancestors have been gathering from far and wide to trade and establish the global community we know today for thousands and thousands of years. Modern technology is a luxury. History has taught us to be humans first...how can we live in such a linear new (techno) age? We must remember always that we entrepreneurs have carved our roots in history and made the industry what it is today based on that historical knowledge and experiences.
Just some thoughts, everyone's responses are fantastic.

Greetings all, how was your weekend? Hope you had a fantastic one in the company of your loved ones, and that the following week has nothing but good things in store for you all. Having that said and honestly meant, I want to say that apart from the business interest this topic of discussion presents, I must admit that from a philosophy of technology point of view: the item reaches at the core of a very big problem that our species is increasinlgy being subjected to: that is, its gradual mechanization and consequent dehumanization.

Take the following as a clear-cut exmaple of what I'm trying to get at. Ever since the advent of cell phones, we've encountered a novelty to the human condition that has been both beneficial to, but also detrimental for the development of "human" relationships. On the one hand, I'm the first to admit that having a cell phone in the case of an emergency is a life saver; being able to communicate with our loved ones irrespective of time and location is a plus, too; and it proves vital for the sake of a business---especially of the network marketing type we're in. On the other hand, what good is it to go out to the mall or wherever else people gather in the flesh to only ignore them as they pass on by simply because we've got our attention centered on the person on the other end of the cell phone line? Where then is what Jean-Paul Sartre identifies as the "being-for-others" that's to be fulfilled if we're all with our cell phone stuck in our ears and oblivious to the life that surrounds our immediate surroundings? (FYI: Being-for-others refers to an individual person's calling in life to be the unique soul God endowed you with in order to fulfill what you are so that another person can take in what it is you are for their own personal appreciation, reflection and growth. In other words, being the unique person you are so that others can perceive it independent of technological mediation or furthermore perturbation.)

The study of phenomena is called phenomenology; and a phenomenon is any item of contemplation (e.g., a sight, an occurence, a thought, and so on) that presents itself to us. In addition, the ancient Greeks identified Truth as consisting of "aletheia," or simply put: the truth as it appears to the person. And yet what is it that many misguided souls refer to their truth or reality as? Lamentably, many take an occurence in their lives and equate it with, "wow, such and such happened to me, just like in T.V." This state of affairs is very tragic because Truth and/or reality get viciously distorted; and all this likewise thanks to another technological device. Truth, let alone human relations, have been warped by technology; and business is no different when considering what it is that we're analyzing at present: the possible substutition of person to person relations with the Internet.

As with any other capitalist venture, efficiency in the mode of production is the optimum. You ask what will produce the most efficient results for business, and I respond to that that with the Internet, obviously. For by placing your emphasis of work on the Internet, you reach a tremendous amount of people not only at the same time but also that you wouldn't otherwise even know they existed. However, at what cost are you accomplishing such a feat? Countless hours of being in front of your computer not only increases the risk of you developing cancer (in case you didn't know), but also contributes to one of our most pressing emergencies at present: Global Warming. Yet listen, I could go on and on about this awesome topic of discussion, but I don't intend to annoy or possibly anger the moderators of this great medium. Nonetheless and so as to conclude, I believe that there has to be some leeway in between personal and impersonal business ties. Money is of value, but so should your own lives, psyche and the preservation of nature. I'll be opening up a blog about this same topic of discussion in my personal profile sometime soon. Until then, may God bless each and every one of you. Peace.
