Yes, it's true. Can you believe it....
No - not really. I love my company.
But I'm always analyzing - to one degree or another.
I am an entrepreneur after all, so I'm always looking for new markets, new angles, new opportunities.

But millions of people around the world are looking for a mlm. Hundreds, maybe thousands, in your own backyard. And there are also hundreds and thousands of "marketers" out there trying to scoop them up.

You see... just like that post that we've all seen before, if you go through the answers, after a few it all sounds the same... blah blah blah. My company this, my product that, my comp plan, my upline, my system...
yada yada yada. The list goes on and on - but its just a blob of mediocrity.

So here's the thing...
What Are You Doing To Stand Out From The Crowd?

What are you doing TODAY, right now, to differentiate yourself in the marketplace?
If I were to do a search online right now, for your target market, would I find you?
Do you even know which market place you are in? Does anyone else?

If you can't answer yes, then you have some serious work to do. And believe me...
It doesn't include jamming your little advertisement in a forum post from someone
"looking for a new opportunity..."

That's it.
Hopefully this gets you thinking about what's really important in your business, and how you plan to position yourself starting RIGHT NOW! Because in case you didn't realize it or it hasn't hit you yet... 2009 is all but over. 2010 is in full sight, about to crest the summit...

Are you where you thought you'd be or where you wanted to be at the end of 2009?
Did you meet those expectations from your new year's resolutions?

In about 45-60 days millions of people will be starting over....
Will they find YOU?

Yea good points here Richard, and Dean you're right as well as it's obvious Christine and Michael Hoffman didn't even read Richard's original post and definitely not standing out from the crowd.

I'm all about affiliate marketing, though that may not make me stand out from the crowd, you won't be hearing any business pitch from me.

I like the point you are trying to make Richard. It seems that all too often the "HOT" topic on Better Networker is someone that says they are looking for a new opportunity. Then it becomes a feeding frenzy of people pitching either the latest and greatest nutrional product, marketing system or just spouting off motivational quotes or the people that try and be ahead of the curb and do a take away in their pitch and say something like "I'm going to surprise you here and yada yada yada you have to qualify yourself to me". I have to admit, I was once guilty of that. The important thing is that I learned from it. After trying to pitch I evaluated the response... none. Not a successful method, try something else. And so on until I was able to illicit a consistant response. The important thing for people is like you said, what sets YOU apart? I always wonder if the people pitching actually think the pseudo anonymus response that they left on that particular thread will get someone to sign up? I also wonder whether or not they have made an attempt to contact that person over the phone. You can talk about your marketing system all you want and how it signs X number of people a month... bollocks. It's all well and good when you are selling your marketing system that way & that's been proven to work (Dillard, Kubassek, the list goes on and on). But to actually sponsor someone into your business requires you to actually talk to and connect with a person. Those guys have come right out and said it numerous times & yet people still ignore that part of the lesson. You still have to talk to people, get in contact with them, ask them questions, connect with them, that is how network marketing works & how it is supposed to work. I think I have touched on some things you were trying to get across... thoughts.
