No it's touch wood... it's a very common saying here In Australia that I think may have it's roots in colonialism.

This caught my interest because I say 'touch wood' as well :p

Now as for which one is right....Touch wood is more of a literal translation of the original french version, that is 'toucher du bois'. So i think that 'knock wood' is the correct answer.

But i myself prefer 'touch wood' and anyway who cares which one is used as long as the meaning is clear?

The Australian's maybe got it off us in UK - you "touch wood" for protection / to ward off bad luck - a bit like 'fingers crossed' or 'break a leg' - touch wood - is when you have to touch a wooden surface as quickly as possible after saying something like "I hear bob down the road has chicken flu, touch wood that never happens to me! "

I think maybe your picture can be a problem for you. I suppose you don´t look like a skull and crossbone in real life My little adwise to you,put in another picture,more "positiv"and do not answer any stupid comments.
