Hello everyone,
I am taking Mike's Traffic Formula 2 course but I am not sure about which domain name I should use to build my Nerve Center. Should it include my name (ex http://www.david-diaz.com) as part of the You Inc strategy or should it be more generic (ex http://www.getmlmresults.com) like Mike suggests in the Domain Secrets PDF bonus that comes with the Magentic Sponsoring course?
I hope someone can get back to me as soon as possible so that I can carry on with this amazing course!
BTW, I'm brand new to BetterNetworker and looking fwd to networking with entrepreneurs from all over.
Thank you all!
To our success,
David

Re: TF2 Domain name
Hello David,
To get some search engine love, go generic.
Here a list of domains available in order of searches per month...the first one (mlmscam.org) has the highest exact phrase traffic (1600 searches per month in Google in the U.S.):
mlmscam.org
affiliatemarketingmlmnetwork.org,net
top-mlm.org
homebasedbusinessnetworkmarketing.org
mlmprospects.org
mlmsales.net
mlmproducts.org
mlmfraud.net
downlinemlmnetworkmarketing.org,net
mlmmulti-levelmarketing.com,org,net
mlmwebsite.org
mlmsecret.org (I like this one even though it only gets 720 exact phrase searches per month)
mlmdistributors.org,net
Have fun building that bad boy out!
Brett

Re: TF2 Domain name
Hi David,
Personally, I did a nerve center for both my name and a generic domain for my niche. But, I did use the free Wordpress themes. If you are paying for a theme, you might want to stick to your MLM targeted domain name and use your name for a blog/nerve center with the free Wordpress themes.

Hello David,
Hello David,
It really depends on if you are going to be branding yourself or a combination of you and a product. Mike Dillard did it with Magnetic Sponsoring. You have to decide on what your over all strategy is going to be then pick the one that best suites your way of marketing. I wrote an article about it on my site http://jaynealinternational.ws/workfromhome/the-next-step-in-starting-your-work-from-home-business/ you should look at it. You can do both by getting both domains and inter linking back and forth when you post and up date them. Hope this helps!

Re: TF2 Domain name
The general consensus that I have uncovered while researching this topic is to brand "you inc." Go with your name and that way if you ever change companies or niches, you can take them with you. Beware of using free blog sites like word press and blogger. Blogger canceled my site without warning probably because I had not written anything for a couple of months. That content is gone. Fortunately, I forwarded most of it to another site.
Domain names and websites are the best investment for you to make. You can purchase both from hostgator for $20/year and design your own site. Best investment you will ever make.

Re: TF2 Domain name
1. your name included
2. something short and to the point
3. catchy and easy to remember (also means easy to spell)
take mine for example CREATEWITHNATEdotCOM
easy to spell, catchy, easy to remember and has my name cheers!

Re: TF2 Domain name
Hey David,
Welcome to the community!
The best domain name depends on your marketing strategy.
If you're going to focus primarily on Social Media Marketing, then using the domain with your name may have more appeal, because you're building relationships with people online and they will read your profile page to find out more about you.
When they see your getmlmresults web site, they may assume that you have an agenda and may not click on the link. When they see your david-diaz address, they may click out of curiosity and then get engaged in the value that you offer on your blog.
If you going to do Pay Per Click ads, the getmlmresults would look better to searchers, because it gives them a better idea of what to expect on the site and it states a benefit, that you can help them get mlm results. And if you're using mlm in your keyword, it would be bolded in your domain name on the ad, which helps it stand out.
I'm not fond of dashes in domain names. People may forget the dash and link to daviddiaz.com and be very confused.
Your name has no keyword relevance, whereas getmlmresults at least has mlm in it, so it may help you in getting ranked for mlm related keyword phrases.
I'm in the TF2 class also and I wrote a blog about setting up your Nerve Center at http://mlmmarketingleadspro.com/mlm-lea ... mlm-leads/ with some other tips that may help you.
Let me know if you have any questions.
