Hey Community, how's it going?
If you're someone that regularly keeps up with what's going on in this industry, then you probably already know that we're about experience once again, a major shift.
A few big things are about to happen. One, is that by Tuesday, you will only be able to upload videos, articles, and other content on this site, if you're a member of the ABN. It's being done to weed out the spammers in the community and to bring more to those that are truly giving and providing value.
The other big event about to happen is Mike Dillard's new program, and his "Elite Partnership Program".
These are two of the most significant events that will create another shift in the industry.
Now, as this is happening, I get a slight feeling that comes from the law of scarcity. Sometimes, it feels like everything is passing right by me and I want to get a grip on things. I imagine myself reaching up and grabbing on to the fast flow to ride along with rising leaders.
I want to be there.
Please understand that this is not some sort of cry for help. It's not some sort of wussy excuse for not getting there. I know that if I continue to create more content, provide real value, and learn how to truly give, I'll make it, even if all the stuff I make ends up posted elsewhere. (At least that's what I believe.
But sometimes I wander if there's something blinding me. And I believe that to an extent, it's true. I mean, it's part of the learning process, and as you continue with persistent effort, eventually what you will need to know will come to you.
That's what I think. Then again, maybe I'm wrong and blinded, held back by something I don't know.
Recently, after getting fed up with being frustrated, for some reason, I said screw affiliate commissions. So in my newsletter, I started featuring other people's websites without signing up for their programs. On my Facebook page, I shared a link to one of Ferny Ceballos's blog, with no affiliate link.
I just got to a point where I didn't care. And it actually made me feel better knowing that I wasn't going to get anything back. Right now as I write this, it just occurred to me that maybe I just got tired of the greed.
Because I'm poor, it's not the easiest thing to just avoid your primal impulses for survival. So maybe it felt better to give because I realized on a deeper level that I was being greedy and didn't know it.
So what's your feedback?
Can you NOT KNOW what's holding you back? And the path to finding the answers, does it come to you through persistence? This is what I keep thinking - maybe I'm wrong.
Everybody knows that doing the same thing repeatedly with no results, while expecting results, is insanity. Einstein said so.
And one more thing: Lately, I've just decided to be open about my status, position, level of success I've had which is pretty much, nothing yet. I'm not in a position to where I can skip a couple meals out a week and save my money to invest in a new program to learn from.
So what I've been doing is just making videos, with the intent on just being honest that I'm not a professional, and sharing what works with me as I go.
Well, that's a lot of information. Looking forward to hearing your responses and discussing this topic some with you guys.
This community rocks.

Re: What if You DON'T KNOW What's Holding You Back?
Dude, have you been reading my blog?
I just recently posted an article about how you can set yourself apart
and begin to have success based on where you came from and where you're
going, rather than being focused on where you are.
There is nothing holding you back.
You are making progress, you just don't know it.
Every day you learn something new. Every day you share your
thoughts and experiences with those you'd like to help.
Every single day, just the fact that you are out there in the trenches,
slugging it out, making your way, with no end in sight and no evidence
of progress, yet still take time to share your struggles with others that
wish they had your drive, proves that you are breaking free.
It's a gut-wrenching process that forces you to change your paradigm and even
involves physical pain. To withstand it and come out the other side is truly a
remarkable feat.
I respect your effort.
I know what it's like.
Your yearning to "be there" is fuel for your fire, bro.
Soon you will look at yourself and wonder how you came to be where
you are now. People will ask you how you did it. They'll want you to give
them a simple answer. They'll want you to grab them up and bring them to
where you are without effort, so they can avoid the pain and "be there"
instantly.
Because even though they don't see the scars, they know you've got 'em.
And even if you could magically make them successful, you wouldn't do it.
You wouldn't want to rob them of the feeling that comes from meeting the
challenges and overcoming them to get what they want.
So you just keep on keepin' on.
Each day is a chance to take another step towards your goal.
And don't you ever quit.
Even if people do think you're insane.

Re: What if You DON'T KNOW What's Holding You Back?
Dave, thanks for your thoughtful response. I'm on my way now to read your blog. Sounds like it will be very interesting.
Law of scarcity is a vicious monster as you're scraping through to get by. Just recently I had to make some personal decisions to cut ties with some unhealthy relationships. The emotions go up and down but it was the only decision I could make because my well being was at risk.
This has put me at an even more "risky" circumstance for the moment. Just one financial mishap could send me literally on the street right now. Got the collectors calling. And my son who's 2, is involved.
Again, emotional ups n' downs because you don't know literally what the next day holds.
Again, I appreciate your insight and time.

Re: What if You DON'T KNOW What's Holding You Back?
Gutsy move there Billy, I applaud your honesty and I think a lot of us could benefit from being so honest.
I have absolutely no advice to give you. None. Zip! But I can relate to where you are at and have empathy for you.
As I read your post I felt like I was reading my life story. That is exactly how I have felt over & over again. So I am with you there buddy.
If you have ever watched a film called "The Pursuit of Happyness" you will know what I am talking about.
One thing I can say is this... while I am not where I would like to be I am also not like many people I have known who have given up on life and quit. And I mean really quit!
Attempted suicides, drug addiction, alcoholism, gambling & homosexuality etc, to name a few.
If you quit you will end up in a worse state than if you keep going. So don't stop. Read Mike Dillards story!
The story of my life has always been... winners never quit and quitters never win.
So my friend... do as I do, don't quit, you have a long way to go but the lessons you learn can empower you immensely for greater things in life.
Finally, remember the words to the AC/DC song...
I tell you folks, it's harder than it looks. It's a long way to the top if yer wanna rock n roll.
Keep rockin & rollin!

I agree with Greg... gutsy and laudable post.
Since you are able to clearly state the symptoms, the diagnosis becomes easy. You are stuck in a low vibration and need meditative processes that will center you Billy.
My prescription is that you get a hold of some meditative guru in your area and learn how to blank the mind. It is not easy. You will get a few seconds out of every hour you try. But those seconds will be enough to change the vibration you're operating at and that will change everything.

Hey man, you're probably right. Eben Pagan was talking about how in today's world, people now are so envolved with things, that they have a hard ability to just concentrate on one thing or clear the mind. You made me remember about a hypnosis audio that I found online and maybe I need to do as you're saying and use the audio to help.

Re: What if You DON'T KNOW What's Holding You Back?
Interesting post. I am going to stick to your one question in the middle of the post.
"Can you NOT KNOW what's holding you back? And the path to finding the answers, does it come to you through persistence? This is what I keep thinking - maybe I'm wrong."
You are not wrong. To answer this, sometimes it is hard to figure out exactly what is holding you back. I think this is true with any situation and not just in our industry. My husband is an executive at a large corporation and was trying to figure out for months how to move forward in his career even though he is at the "top" already. After much thinking, discussing and soul searching, he has figured out his path and now feels like a weight has been lifted from his shoulders. Sometimes this may take months but really, like others said, you never know what the next day holds for you so keep on going.
I do believe in the principals of "The Secret" and that you need to keep a positive mindset and keep looking for solutions. It will all come in time.

Re: What if You DON'T KNOW What's Holding You Back?
I appreciate your honesty. I also know that maybe younger people have a harder time being taken seriously- this has been true with many in my team. There is a bias against younger people for some reason but it can be overcome.
One way is through internet marketing. This is one area your generation has an edge on us old folks. You all seem to know how to blog, connect, message and everything else without blinking an eye. One adjustment I'd make in your presentation though is I'd move more to informational videos where you don't have to be seen. You have good content, but honestly, wearing a cap and a tshirt for your profile page is sending the message you don't want to send.
Now I'm writing to you write now in a cap and a t shirt, but I won't post it:)
I encourage younger people to present more "Powerpoint" based video content- it looks professional, they are easy and free to produce (use dimdim.com) and it takes the "youth factor" out.
This can raise people's opinion about your content. I hope you are not offended with what I shared, it's not about your youth, its about the bias in our society. I think this is one blindspot that I can help you with.

Re: What if You DON'T KNOW What's Holding You Back?
No, no problem, your reply was very helpful. I agree with you about image, appearance, and bias.
Really, I was thinking about taking down that one video. I'd just recorded it when Traffic Formula 2.0 came out and I was outside the public library right after working my blue-collar job. Most likely I was probably about to go to my other afternoon blue collar job.
I will think about the image too. I dress this way because the market I'm trying to reach and help are artists and musicians. (At some point, I believe there will be a big pouring in of people from the music and art communities because they will realize how much this industry can do for them. Especially during these times.) But maybe another profile pic for BN would look better.
And I have 2 Youtube accounts. One account is to document my journey from living out of my van pretty much and showing others how they can create success by learning with me. The other account is to post the content that I feel can provide real value to people. On BN, I'm just on here to be me as much as I can, grow, and help anyone I can along the way.
Also, at the moment, I don't have extra money to get clothes. If you happen to see me, I may be wearing the same stuff for a while because my expenses literally are exceeding my income. I mean BIG TIME. The black T-Shirt I have on in the videos, well, I've had it for about 5 years!
I'm almost literally at dirt bottom man. And I'm bracing myself for an even higher financial tsunami that's on its way soon.
But surely as this begins to unfold for the better, you will also see better quality in everything from me. On an intuitive level I understand a lot, but being able to project that understanding out is a challenge for many reasons.
But thanks again for the reply.
