You could consider using someone who builds squidoo lenses for a living. Then you wouldn't have to worry about learning how to build squidoo lenses yourself.

Have you considered running a PPC campaign that sends surfers to your lens?

You can also use guaranteed visitors and the links in your emails to the list builders.
Put links in your emails to your list that lead to your lens.
Solo ads.

Any method of driving traffic to a web page will work for a Squidoo lens also.
That's been my experience.

You might want to link your articles and other social pages such as Hubpages and Wetpaint
to your lens too.

You may be surprised at the traffic you get by cross-linking your social sites, blog, articles,
videos, etc.

I've built more than 350 Squidoo lenses since 2007. I usually build my lenses in series and cross-promote them in various ways (lensrolling, featured lens modules, discovery tool, etc.) I always make a "lensography" lens to highlight lenses in a particular series. I also blog about my main niche areas. The SquidU forum and Answer Deck offer many suggestions for getting targeted traffic. There are also Squidoo Mentors dedicated to SEO and promotion. You don't have to pay for advice. The nice thing about Squidoo is that members freely offer help to other lensmasters.

One thing you can do is look at one of the lens' that teach you how to properly write a lens.

But ultimately, in order for people to find your content, you must write your articles about particular keywords and then include those keywords in your article. Only 2 keywords, 3 at the most for one article. The keywords, or tags, you write about, increase your chances of being found on search engines when people type those keywords in. Another trick is to include your keyword in your introduction at least twice and then bold or italicize them.

Also include your keywords in the titles of your modules.

Make sure you backlink other websites to your lens'. This improves the ranking of your lens, increasing your chances of being found.

For me, I have found that the best way to get targetted traffic to my lenses is through SEO. Since Squidoo has such a high PR Google loves the lenses so they get ranked really well.

I have also found that I can get a good amount of traffic from the social networks. I do not find that they are quite as targeted as the SEO but it really helps to build the relationships with them more plus they become more responsive which is just a good thing all around.

Social Media sites, that's what I use. Just blast it out to your twitter network, facebook etc.
