Re: Video Editing Software
Camtasia is good for capture video of your computer screen. I use Corel video studio if you are on a PC.

Re: Video Editing Software
use the following and each for a purpose. Hope below info helps:
Camtasia
For recording on screen stuff, like video tutorials - I use Camstasia. It has amazing functions. For example, when you have recorded your video tutorial, then you can add:
- Zoom in functions so people can see the actions you're doing on screen. Great for when I do video tutorials on Photoshop, Dreamweaver, showing CSS coding, to Graphic Design, Capture page designs etc.
- You can also add captions easily too and more.
- Save in many formats as well as flash swf, avi, and much more.
There's a free trial too http://www.techsmith.com/download/camtasiatrial.asp
And they have a dedicated forum too on technical stuff with users sharing tips and answers. It was my first choice and it has been an amazing investment.
Power Director
For capturing from Digital Camera, I use Sony Vegas, or Power Director. Power Director is easy for me to capture from Digital Cameras and also Camera's with tap in them as I do filming using tape sometimes.
It compresses the video for me easily so I can import it in Sony Vegas.
Sony Vegas
For editing, Sony Vegas is one of the Dons. You can easily swiftly cutting, add music, clean vocals, have control of levels of sound, to all sorts of awesome stuff, I use Sony Vegas.
Next for me is to get a Lapel microphone and hook it to my shirt so sound is quality.

I am using Windows Live Movie Maker, it is free and does pretty well with basic things.
I will soon be moving to Sony Vegas though
