Hi everyone
I was wondering if there was a tool where you could find out the keywords used in the content of competitors sites?
I have so far used Alexa, Keyword Spy (but that only seems to work if the competitor has a Google Ad word campaign).
Apologies if this question has already been answered on BN.
Many thanks

Re: Keyword tools
I'm also trying to find some good keyword tools. I will agree Market Samurai is great but sometimes I just want a quicker snapshot

1) Google Keyword Tool is pretty good (free) - you can enter a domain instead of keywords, and it will return results in keyword categories, which is great if you're wanting to get some ideas for doing PPC/CPM on the Content network.
2) Market Samurai is pretty comprehensive & I love the support & friendly feel of the company - they have a lot of great YouTube videos too, explaining how you can make the most of the software
3) I agree that the SEO Quake Firefox plugin is also useful.
I have to say though, that if I am doing keyword research, it's mainly from the perspective of getting ideas for a niche market that I want to target, rather for competitive analysis.
As someone else mentioned on another BN forum posting somewhere - trying to beat the competition means you'll always be a step or two behind them...unless you've spotted big gaps in what they are doing which you reckon you can leverage.
A good example of that recently was Russell Brunson's & Frank Kern's asnwers to Mike Koenig's Main Street Marketing Machine....sometimes, info marketers will look at the price point, and work out how to do it cheaper & in a more leveraged manner.
I think all three of the above IM'ers are top-rate by the way & I endorse all of their competitive offerings, as they are targetting different avatars/personas
Apologies for drifting off-topic, but I'm always striving to keep to the big picture, instead of getting side-tracked in burrowing down too deep..the latter is sometimes OK to do, but only if results in productive results....which I'm confident that many BN'ers will agree with (& you too!).

Re: Keyword tools
To get the keywords themselves, Google External Keyword Tool works quite well, along with spyfu.com
What, IMO, is a far more important piece of information is what keywords drive the majority of their organic traffic, and for that I use alexa and compete.com and spyfu.com

Re: Keyword tools
On the Google Keyword Tool you can customize the results. Click the view tab and add estimated cpc so you can see how much those keywords are worth. You may find a word that has low competition and a decent amount of searches, but then find that it is not a money-making keyword.
Also in Market Samurai there is a feature that allows you to see how the competition is getting ranked. You can see if they are in the Directories, have the keyword in the title, url, etc. If there is too much red in the matrix then you might not want to compete lol...decent amount of green and you have a fighting chance
