What am I doing wrong?

hi again, im getting frustrated trying to build my business and getting people to take a look at my site...
I cant afford to be spending money on google etc and as per normal you sign up free for this n that only to be hit with another page saying "FOR A LIMITED TIME ONLY" UPGRADE FOR ?, its rather disheartening.

I have joined Stem tech personally the best business to hit our markets simply because it helps people. Yes I was skeptical at first probably because I have been burnt many times over. But because I have seen the results in peoples lives I decided wow this is the one, so if this is the one why dont other people feel the same as I do? If you wish to take a look and give me some helpful advice please do so. www.anitak.info

Hi Anita

Your target prospects want to know more about your skills, your knowledge, and more of you. Give it to them, and build your list, and enter them into your sales funnel.

Give time to first build your personal brand while you make money too. Give them valuable content but at same time...build that list. Priority Anita is build your list, build relationship with your list and give them solutions to buy when they are in your sales funnel but do it right too.

Get a domain. Get wordpress.org. Hire someone to customise it. Ask Richard Bravo. My hands full until I find good outsourcers in future.

Real Live Example of what I mean:
I'm going to share what I'm doing for a friend who is a Football Coach. He also thinks the Football Academy he's with, the organisation he has got, is the best in world but no one was really interest.

Once, it was a website all about organisation, what it does, etc etc. No one was really interested.

Until.. something happened and his blog is not even up yet and he's getting interest but - only because he did something different.

I asked him what his story is. Then who are his prospects. I mean, this guy has a massive story and it was unbelievable that he wasn't leading with the solutions he has, the skills he has. Story like this:

He just didn't know how to market. So, after some questions in finding out who his prospects are, the challenges they face, we began working.

We did have one challenge. He was flying from UK to Austria and he couldn't use that speech he had and presentation on how great the organisation is, and blah, blah.

So due to time against us at that time, I quickly created a blog for him using blogger, until we sort out the wordpress later on. We needed to move fast. Because we heard in Austria, the conference will be done with a massive screen and it will have Internet connection.

The blog is all about solution, what he has been doing to solve the poverty, the lack of education using sports, football. I found out the primary needs of his prospect and...recorded them as question and answers..

2. Then got him to record himself with a digital camera answering 5 questions which revealed the answers to what they needed at the Conference. I found out what these problems were by phone call after phone call, until we got the answers to the targeted prospects needs.

We talked to the prospects. Plus some research..

Here's the video.. from his blog answering the questions. Totally different to what he was going to do. ;)



He flew to Austria. And he let his Blog do the talking. They watched the video from his blog, on a massive screen.

This is the blog we worked just for now...

He came back from Austria and couldn't believe it because for three years he's been trying to get these organisations to listen but who wants to listen, "My business is so awesome?" Or, "My organisation is so great"

What he did, is lead with solutions. He found out what the organisations needed as solutions. He also used his own story, with photographs, showing how he's doing the work. I'm only giving these links so you see what I mean...

5. He's now flying again to another meeting in Africa because he did something that no community organisation has done. Created his own education system for organisations who are having hard time with getting funding, and showing how to do it, as well, how to generate cash and other things, they desperately need, and it be translated in English and French.

They are now talking about this guy. He's recieved emails and phone calls from organisations globally and the man only got a freaking BLOGGER! Not wordpress or anything fancy!

6. Now, we are at this stage - got domain name, hosting, and moving from blogger to create his own nerve centre, which is a blog but does more than a blog. It's a full system. It has it's own sales funnel. Membership site.

So when they get a product, they are hooked in back end, so he can later reveal other offers. Plus added valuable training to help them along.

Yeah, I learnt this from Mike Dillard. Hey, why shouldn't I copy him :lol: That's what mentors are for. Copy, but just move it towards a different niche. Just turned it round for "how to use the power of football to develop projects, without losing your savings!"

The key to note is when people go onto his blog when it's launched, it answers these questions to the prospects..

A) What's in it for me. I don't care about how great your opportunity and business is. What's in it for me? Can it solve my problem?
B) Will it work for me?
C) Can I Trust you?
D) What Your Selling?

A= He provides a free valuable ebook. The organisations wanted to know, how can they get Teenagers and adults in Africa to get Football Scholarship? He already done this and now interviewed a Pro Football coach giving the details, and process.

Plus when they get the ebook, he builds his list, they are added to his newsletter too, to get more education. Revealing his skill, knowledge and he knows exactly what he's talking about and he talks in their emotional language.

This answers "what's in it for me."

B) Will it work for me? He'll provides valuable content, videos, information to reveal stats, progress reports to show results. Not just himself but for other organisations who use his knowledge and skills.

Newspaper clippers from around the world, media news about him. Showing how it works for different people.

C) Can I trust you? He is got photographs, certificates, images of his with global famous people, top professionals, contact details, map, address, telephone, the lot.

And a free email newsletter to educate, build trust and a process, to filter, and to call people when they are on his list. He'll call them up too and ask questions, and builds rappport and later lead to solution.

His blog won't be biz opp but rather leading him him as the face, with valuable content and later, he can lead people to the business side, university side when they qualify.

D) What Are You Selling? At end of every article is call of action, box type, with offer too. He''ll be upfront with his target audience as he gives valuable content. There is a process even in the email articles, etc.

In the about page called "Why Are You Here" he hits it to what it's about, what he's selling. In the other pages too. He's up front with it.

Conclusion Anita
You need to do some work mate.

No one really is interested on whose business is so great. Your target audience need solutions. They need to find out more about you. Your value, your skills, webinars, email newsletters, as you build your list.

Later, when they see you got value, leadership, and even the training etc, to lead them AND they want to join your business, then there's a process for this too.

While that is about to happen, lead your prospects after giving value to them, with solutions that they pay for, which helps you with cash flow.

Which you include in your sales funnel. Prepare everything. Know it inside out. Education my friend.

And they will email and call you when you do such steps so get ready. They WILL call you 100%. Yeah, not 99%. 100% because I'm experiencing it now.

Build your list by offering something free but valuable. Lead with your skills, knowledge. Learn the full process. Let the targeted prospects find out more about you.

You'll be alright Anita. Give it time mate. There's a lot of knowledge here in the community. Keep learning. It will happen through knowledge. Just keep digging for knowledge, read through the forums, put the pieces together.

Hi Anita I used to feel the same but it wasn't until started putting my thoughts out there on the internet like here on Better Networker that I got into some steady list building. It takes time & patience but now people take note of what I am doing (my profile here on Better Networker and my blog helps) so talking to people and then later inviting them to look at something is not pushing anything on anybody.

Where abouts do you live Anita? I live in Wanganui :-)

Anita,

If you're looking for free or inexpensive marketing, there is some out there. But you have to know where to look.

For someone like yourself, like Adam said, you need to brand you, not your company or your products. No one is going to join the business without someone showing them how to do it. That is where you come in.

It's called attraction marketing.

The longer you pitch the business and the products, the longer it will take you to get to where you want. You need to work on YOU first.

I can say that because it wasn't until a year ago that I was trying the same approach you were, climbing down that same rabbit hole and getting lost.

Have you looked at other people blogs, training, webinars, etc.?

I have made the decision to stay and learn through BN members, when i jump form ship to ship, I get so confused, and when you talk about YOU what do you mean by that? Do I tell people my life story?

thanks for that Elur maybe im one of them gullible ones ah, I really do care about people and I guess there isnt many people out there like me.... There is always people wanting something back in return and I guess love doesnt make the money go round so I guess my grandparents were right "Money is the root of all evil"

With my job as a medical alarm consultant I get so much pleasure out of helping the elderly because if it wasnt for them none of us would be here now, and there are a lot of people around that think about nothing but themselves and what can they get out of it. To me, its not what I can get out of it but the tremendous feeling I have of helping those who are not as fortunate. Please dont be offended by my post but I cant change the fact that i love to help people,and im very grateful for everyones advice :(

So in my opinion, the issue is not so much what you're doing wrong, it's that you haven't learned the dynamics of what works right yet, and you haven't opened your mind to what is necessary to succeed online. It's a mental thing that's causing your current lag.

You have to be willing to pay for your education and advertising. You've got to run your business like a business, not a "if this just works" sort of hope. You've to realize no one care how great your company is or how much it helps people because a product is impersonal.

You've got to create, expose others to, and share your own developing value in order for your business thrive.

thanks heaps, and if i had lots of money to do all that is required, I would definitely try anything but unfortunately I dont, already been burned, I dont intend to put myself or my family in financial strife again, it was stressful and almost cost me my family and my house.
