This is one of those things that needs to be right. Which is why I think it's better to outsource. Ego is great and I'd love to be able to do it myself, but heck, sometimes you just have to admit that you can't be fabulous in everything!:laugh:

Okay. Hands up those of you who spotted the deliberate mistake in the capture page and just didn't say anything cos you didn't want to hurt my feelings?

Meantime, Ferny my friend, thanks for the templates. Now, as you're the 'clever' guy round here, explain this.

I get my hands on templates that look really good. I input my copy and suddenly they all go haywire and look nothing like the template I started out with? Do I have a magic computer? :dry:

Methinks it's time to put some serious effort into taming HTML editors. I get more respect from my kids! Sheesh!

Anyway, I'm ranting, forgive me folks.

Hi Susan,

I recommend you rewrite the copy by hand.

The fonts and everything are already set, so
start the template from scratch, then type
in the copy you've written.

Don't copy and paste. That will cause all
kinds of craziness.

Also, under images folder I gave you, you
have a folder called "template9".

Make sure that's there, or else the dark
bordering won't work.

I agree with FM, I don't care for the gold/yellow BG.

I would maybe use a lighter yellow. But who am I to say?

Anyway, I see what you mean about FTP Ferny. I've rewritten the copy in by hand and it looks great in my html editor but uploading the graphics to my cp doesn't work. At least it doesn't put them where they should be. And the preview in IE is a totally blank page?:unsure:

Looks ok in firefox, but I doubt that everyone uses firefox. Not sure why nothing showing in IE.

I've sent a request to my host to ask about the FTP. He's pretty good so I'm expecting a call from him in the next hour or so. Then I'll upload it again for you all to see.

Hi folks
I just want to run something by those of you who are contributing to this book.

I'm busy setting up the responder series and in my second message I've put the following in there.

The folks who spilled their guts to give you this information all
have something to offer you. They all, without exception, are willing
to help you to take action and increase your level of success.

I hope this will encourage them to sign up to everyone's lists but I want to be sure I have your permission to say this before I say it. (does that make sense?) And in case you're worried I have qualified the statement with the following:

Note that none of them are willing to
help those who are not willing to help themselves. If you
are looking for a 'free ride' I suggest you look elsewhere!

Hopefully, that will eliminate the tire kickers! I don't want to be responsible for clogging up your lists with people who aren't going to do anything.

Lord this is hard work!

Okay, after much hard work and many screams I have two versions of the capture page to check out.

Seriously, this FTP stuff is hard! Good job I have a very patient hosting provider. He may run out before long though. LOL

Anyway, here's a couple of ideas. Let me know which one, if any, you prefer.

I just can't understand why that doesn't work in IE.And obviously, it needs fixing before putting up. Although for the life of me I can't understand why folks would choose IE over Firefox, I know they do. Heck, I only switched to Firefox a couple of months ago. Until then, I always just thought I had a really slow connection.:(

Guess if I can't figure it out then at least I know which version will be getting tested first!:laugh:

Glad you're happy with the quotes. Anyone any ideas on how many messages should be in there? I've heard that it should be 7 and so this is my initial series that I'll be going with. Anyone else planning anything different?
