Would You Want This Person as Your Sponsor?

Postby Paul Murphy on Mon Jun 28, 2010 7:23 am

When someone is tearing you and others down in life and profession this is
a guarantee they will do the same to you and others behind your back.
Ultimately they will crash and burn from their lack of character.

The question is:

Would You Want This Person As Your Sponsor :?:

I am annoyed by Negative People I do not even want to be in the Same room with them. But I take responsibility for the people I attract and realize that sometimes we need to Learn from them. Even if it means do not be like that it is unattractive! So I thank them for showing me how not to be.

carrielyn wrote:Of course I wouldn't want this person as a sponsor. The last thing a person needs is to be around someone who's always bringing other people down. If they're taking down others in your presence they're bringing you down with them by association.

I heard a quote last week that this reminds me of, "Take great care to never injure anyone's pride...it's all they have." This is so true. I believe that in network marketing, as in life, our job is to build people up, make them believe their capable of more than they think, and encourage them to take risks they'd normally be afraid to take. I would never choose someone as my mentor or upline that didn't believe in the same. :)

I really learned alot from your Reply. Our Job is to build people up! That is so Attractive! Thank you for your Intelligent answers. I plan on Reading alot more of your Stuff!

Now we're on to something! Build people up, what a concept... Others should take note, perhaps quit shooting themselves in the foot by spouting egotivity at every opportunity, and learn to take the high road always. Do you see industry leaders such as Mike Dillard for example, participating in negativity and self defeating activities online, where billions of people can see it? BN would be a much better site for the effort! Thanks for all the comments so far! :)

Personally...

...yeah I agree and I have practice that since I was 17 years old..What I am saying is this..

..building a person up means they will start feeling such way and guess what they will start
manifesting?..yep, you got it..and will it make a good prospect?..yep again..

One thing for sure and is that most people if not all grew up with installations of believes
systems..at least half a dozen..so yeah, telling people what they really are instead of what
they belief can suspend such belief even if it's temporary hence, the need for development..

Of course, Personal Development brings understanding of why people act, say, etc..

As far as Egotism we might call it personality..human dignity..or maybe self-pride..It doesn't
matter what we call it..it's simply that something DEEP inside the heart of soul of everyone
that keeps telling them that they are important..that they are somebody..that they matter,
and that they demand respect!

Every person on the face of the earth is a unique individual and the most powerful force within
us is constantly working to maintain and defend this individual..This thing called "EGO" needs to
be fed just like our stomac needs food..

This why we can't treat other people like so many pieces of furniture and get away with it for
long..It does not work and it never has..

Hitler tried it, but even with his gas chambers, prison camps, and cruel armies, he was unable to overcome this force that is present within every single human being..

These days the paper are filled with stories of violence..If we examined every one of those situations, I am firmly convinced that what we would see is someone going to the extreme to defend a sensitive
ego..

Listen. We can beat a man in a trade, break his leg, say cuss words in front of his wife, or injure him in almost any way..and he could find a way to forgive us..But if we do even one small thing to detract from his dignity as a human being, if we wound his ego in any small way manner..he will spend the rest of
his life trying to get even..

That should be on our check-list, and we need to listen keenly to hear what the other person is saying and if they are attempting to build themselves or their company up by tearing another down, it should concern us.

There are big money makers in most companies, which is proof that it can be done. Criticism is normally the result of tastes (they just didn't like the way the company operated) or an attempt to validate failure (they weren't willing to work the system).

You should certainly expect straight talk from your coach, but it can be done without disregard for feelings and should always reflect the goal of elevating out best characteristics.

Nah, wouldn't work for me.

People need to be encouraged, not belittled. I just started reading "How To Win Friends And Influence People" by Dale Carnegie and the first chapter is about "criticism" and how it really doesn't help anyone.

freemoney wrote:I for one like a few negative people around.

Imagine a world we were lead down a jolly path of deception. Just because someone speaks out doesn't make them a "negative person." Maybe they are just people with too much integrity to see others blindly lead astray.

And for the record, it takes two to argue.

That's a great point Dean. Just because someone speaks a word that we don't agree with, does not mean that they are being negative. They may be saying something that we really do need to hear. That's the exception to the rule.

Sometimes, a little tough love is necessary especially when you have the right motive.
