Are You Facebook or Linked In?
Hey guys I was wondering which site you prefer to build relationships on: Facebook or LinkedIn or both. I hear people say that LinkedIn users are a more professional crowd than Facebook. Which do you think would generate better quality leads? What are your thoughts?
Tired of hearing "is that one of those pyramid things?!?" Overcome the BIGGEST objection about network marketing with Brilliant Compensation Online & have prospects begging you to tell them what company you're in!

I use Facebook & LinkedIn to attract different sorts of people, but I use both.
With LinkedIn, the demographic seems more the business professional (I run a marketing company so that does help), but with Facebook, I use it more as a viral social engine to brand myself and attract fans who will want to connect me with others.
But - there are many, many ways to use both FB & LI, so the above is just a tiny snapshot of the different strategies that you could use them for lead generation/building your business/viral marketing/SEO etc!

I use both to generate leads. The key is to offer value in both areas so you will get as much clicks into your website or blog as possible.

Re: Are You Facebook or Linked In?
Hi Aesha,
I'm a facebooker!
I have a linked in account but I don't really use it much.
I find lately that I'm using FB more and more to connect with my
leads. I copy/paste their email into the FB search and if they're
on there I add them and send I quick message just saying Hi and where
we know each other from.
It's a great way to kick off a relationship and build credibility.
Some might never sign up with you but they join in on the conversations
and that's cool. Also I add all the people I meet here on BN like Daniel
and Dez here.
And like Michelle says Have fun!
P.S. I'll add you as a friend on FB. Look out for my message.
Pete.

Straight up FB for me! I have never been a member of Linked In so I can't comment on it. But IMHO Facebook is king as far as building relationships.
I think it was Perry Belcher who said Facebook is like going to a neighborhood block party and Linked In is like going to the corporate office party, or something like that.
Point being, two totally different crowds.

Re: Are You Facebook or Linked In?
I use both although predominantly Facebook and of course my Fan Page.
I tend to duplicate my work, so if I'm posting a status update, I'll post it to Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin.
Linkedin is quite good for their groups as some of them are quite active.

Re: Are You Facebook or Linked In?
Hey Guys,
Honestly my opinion is that it really matters who your Target Market is?
For B2B then YES LinkedIn is awesome.
BUT for B2c it's Facebook... ALL DAY! And with that said you can also
target B2B on Facebook.
However, I never put all my eggs in one basket. We should be using all of
the resources available to us as marketers, so I think that your asking the wrong question and
instead should be asking...
"How Can I Build An Audience & My Brand On All The Major Social Media Sites Simultaneously?
And there I would answer TWITTER!.. lol
Building an audience on Twitter is the Fastest and the easiest still... So I would
target my audience on Twitter and building a following of 1000's of people in
my Target Market.
Then Have all my Facebook Status Updates from my Profile & Fan Pages automatically
send to Twitter which would then feed LinkedIn (again on autopilot!)
So build audience on Twitter, then add content to Facebook which goes to Twitter Instantly,
then Twitter sends that post to LinkedIn...
AND YOU ARE NOW BUILDING AN AUDIENCE ON ALL 3 OF THE SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES
AT THE SAME EXACT TIME WHILE ONLY ADDING CONTENT TO ONE WHICH IS FACEBOOK!
HERE IS A BONUS FACEBOOK FORMULA FOR YOU...
And the cool thing is that you can actually use a FREE TOOL like DLVR.it which will take
posts from yoru RSS Feed and everytime you update your blog it will send that post to
Faceboook Profile, Facebook Fan Page AND Twitter (which again hits up LinkedIn for you)
So now in essence all you have to do is update your blog which we should be doing anyway.
THIS IS WHY I LAUGH WHEN PEOPLE SAY SOCIAL MEDIA TAKES TO MUCH TIME, AND NOTHING
GETS DONE... Its laughable!
Finally, while I am SUPER DOWN with automating content syndication to my audiences AT THE
SAME TIME I like to use the time I just saved and instead INTERACT WITH MY AUDIENCE!
I won't go deep here but I am sure you know what I mean because your a super smart person
if your hanging out in here...
Hope this was helpful...

Re: Are You Facebook or Linked In?
I think both are good, Linkedin is a lot for biz oriented and FB is much more of a social fun place.
