As you can see by the time on my threads tonight - I am a true online home business owner....the conversations in my head never stop!!
Really though online Communication, as a business owner is something totally new to me.
On a positive note - I believe I like how there are no borders to where I can reach people and I also truly like the prospect of new relationships with people from all over the world. That has always appealed to me.
However I also find it -
Unpredictable - people often write once or twice and then chose not to sustain a conversation. OR they will pick over and respond to only one point in the email or ignore the conversation - which is what emails serve as - for often days at a time.
Impersonal - without a sense of who that person is, it is hard to trust my feelings. Emails can feel like squeezing water out of stone when it comes to have a conversation. Plus when does the real relationship begin?
Surreal - Also, what people say and how they say it and how often they email effects the depth and quality of the relationship. While it is amazing what big decisions and real life changes can be accomplished on the internet today, it does seem a little strange when you haven't actually met the people who are playing a new role in your world.
So I am asking members what some tips are to overcome these issues and build a consistently healthy communication climate in online business. WHat little things do you like to do or what frustrates you?
I do edit what I say so it is to the point and state it as clear as possible, etc. I try to make it personal but....
...when communication is not going right or when the flow and rhythm of emailing is lost to the point of no return...
how do you keep trying or do you just become the hunter again and cut your losses?

Re: Sleepless in Seattle!
I think it's best to use my autoresponder and broadcast emails to
communicate with my list.
Only if someone buys or calls (emails) with genuine interest would I
spend any personal time with them. And then I would just tell them if
they want my time, they gotta get involved with my team.
If you're spending lots of time trying to "build a relationship" with someone
who hasn't even bought anything or joined your team, I'd say you're wasting
your time. I mean this as talking on the phone, sending personal emails, etc.
You'll build your business much faster if you hunt. The truth is, nobody is looking
for you (or me). I would say hunt while the hunting is good (during the day), and
work on your fishing (blog, facebook, etc.) at night or early morning when you
can't actively pursue your prospects.
During the day, you should be on the phone. Save the social media, etc., for off
hours.
Attraction marketing has gotten out of hand. I don't believe it's possible to automate
building a network marketing business. Sooner or later, we have to talk to people
on the phone, and work with them personally. Especially in the beginning, when you
don't have a bunch of front line leaders that you've taught how to train their
downlines.
People may go through the funnel and even sign up on their own, but without some
personal touch after that, they'll be gone in a heartbeat.
Did I stray way off topic there?
I think it's relevant.
