I'm finding Hostgator Support to be excellent - above and beyond. They went all-out problem-solving a frustrating problem: I wasn't able to access the icons on the cpanel (related problems with other programs) and they helped to track down the culprit. Switching out my CA antivirus for Norton cured that and also solved my widget problems in WordPress! This was a refreshing attitude, certainly more appreciated than the "Not our fault" you get from some support people. I certainly won't be looking for another hosting company. Joy

I've been very impressed with the customer service at GoDaddy. 24/7 and they don't get off the phone until you are satisfied.

Sounds like I don't have the tech savvy as some of the other commentators, which is why stellar customer service is the priority on my list. A quick phone call when I hit a road block leaves me more time for marketing and prospecting.

HOSTGator - w/o hesitation
Worked with GoDaddy for Years - Great support - interface became extremely busy, and slow to get tasks accomplished. Hostgator is simple - and FAST - especially for setting up WordPress in a BLINK of an eye.

For Domain Registration:
1. NameCheap.com
2. Moniker.com

I use hostgator and I have been very happy. The support usually goes beyond what would be expected. I do know several people that swear by bluehost though.

I transferred all of my hosting to GVO.
There are lots of reasons, but the biggest is I wanted
all of my hosting in one place.

They also provide unlimited domains, an autoresponder,
a video player, a private webinar room, competition witness,
and GVO academy (live training).

If you want to promote GVO, they offer the GVO recruiter,
a prospecting system with landing page templates, banners,
ad copy, etc.

You get all that for $45/month.

Not only that, the hosting is owned by marketers and was built
for marketers. Some big names have been using Joel Therien's
hosting for a long time.

Their customer service is great. Just the other day I called them
because I bought a WordPress plugin that wasn't compatible with
the way my blog was set up. I emailed them the script I needed
and they installed it for me. I was up and running within minutes

Downsides include paying more for your domain names. That's the
only one I can think of right now. But for all the extras the few bucks
more for domain registration is no biggie.

Did I mention that with unlimited domains and your web host manager
you can also act as a reseller or offer hosting to your team? :)

They have a 14 day trial for $1. I think it's worth a look.

You can check them out on my blog (myname.com) or PM me for more
info if you're interested.

I've used HostMonster now for a few years
with no problems at all. Great support.

Easy to use and they have built in page
editors that make it super easy to edit
your pages even if you're pretty new.

Built in ftp etc...

Nice. There are many good hosting
companies to choose...

Just be sure you're using one that allows
unlimited sites so you can grow and branch
out if that's what you're looking to do.

They look pretty good...I have heard of GVO, but as usual with things like this, you bump into something, and then pretty soon it gets lost in the noise of traffic.

I'm interested in the webinar room - will it go as far as the level of functionality of GotoMeeting (what I currently use for webinars)?

Cheers,

Dez.

Definitely HostGator and installing WordPress is a snap!

If you need hosting for creating a landing page than I recommend Landing Pages: Landing Pages

I've been hosting sites on the 'net since 1995. I only mention this to say that I have been through the trenches.

If you just want a simple opt-in page you can use just about any provider. But if you have a "money site" or something you always need to be up, I can recommend:

1. LiquidWeb.com
2. WiredTree.com

And if you want good deals on these hosts or other providers go to WebHostingTalk.com.
