Re: Who is teaching this????
Awesome! I might message you with some ideas about fanpages. I created one recently to see how quickly it could gather interest from people and in a couple of days earned 23 members. But it's slowed since then so I've been looking at the way other pages are set up for things like Walgreens, Kim Kardashian, and other types of fan pages. I shall message you

I don't think you will find anyone "teaching this stuff". I think the problem is that the people doing this have not studied or applied the principles of "attraction marketing" and I suggest they do as soon as they can.

Coralynn, the problem is that some of these people are "allegedly teaching attraction marketing." At least that's what they claim they are teaching. Doing it and teaching it are obviously two different things.

That's amazing if they think what they are doing is attraction marketing. It's more like repelling marketing!!! All I can say is I'm glad I learned it from someone who knew how to do it properly.

The first teacher in the world in the teaching career must have been taught by someone. Who was he? Why must this first student be the first teacher ?

Re: Who is teaching this????
So at this point someone needs to provide a solution.
Either to filter the junk promos or provide a systematic way of social networking.
Personally I was original fb'er in college when it was university based (showing my youth)
I have seen people promo through useless updates, very myspace-ish or directmatches-ish.
Pretty much I believe you take the same approach that you would normally do with regular pics and updates that normally happen in real life that you share on facebook however you make it industry based, you should market the network marketing lifestyle, not necessary pitch your product. Facebook (ie guiltless voyeurism) is meant to be interesting, so SIMPLY give people something interesting to watch.

Re: Who is teaching this????
Well said, Art. It looks like you have given us one solution. Should I change this topic to "What is the solution for who is teaching this?" Does anyone else have any solutions?

Re: Who is teaching this????
it does happen all the time. not only on facebook, but also on other social networking websites
People SHOULD do a little bit of both; random updates, real thoughts - real updates .... so people get to know you, along with whatever you are promoting.

Re: Who is teaching this????
I notice it alot as well, Twitter is just brutal for spam now, I rarely check Twitter anymore. The thing about it though is keep track of the people that are spamming links all over the place. By links I mean ads, I don't mind blog posts so much as long as the content is good. You will see that if you have a new friend spamming like gangbusters at first as time goes on the will get less frequent and give it more time they will all but disappear, because no one is interested. People want to buy not be sold, and there will always be people who don't get this. Usually when I get someone spamming opportunity links, as childish as this may sound (it's really all in good fun) I'll just start sending them my links back just to have fun with them a bit. Unfortunately this will continue to happen, we just have to be the bigger people and not sweat it I guess

Re: Who is teaching this????
There are some people that love Facebook...and some that totally love Twitter. I like FB and rarely go on Twitter. With all of that being said, there are some people that will try to find you on one of those platforms...even though you aren't so interested in it...and there are many other social media sites that your friends may try to find you on as well.
I personally do post my updates across other social media sites - not for backlinks or spam - but to let others know what I'm up to if they want to know. I don't always push links or info that's business related...and I also don't have all of the time in the day to moderate all of those profiles...mostly just my Facebook account.
If I had all of the time or money in the world, I would love to reply to everyone's posts...but I don't.
Marketing is about creating exposure. Not everybody will like what you do, but you do your best and try not to p*ss people off.
