Best free traffic strategy for me has been keyword optimized blog posts... then spin the posts to create unique versions and use software to submit to hundreds of blogs and hundreds of article directories to get major backlinks. The back links help the original post to rank high on the search engines. From there we attempt to collect opt-ins and that is our 2nd best free traffic source - emails to our lists.

"Hussle" is my favourite word here...kind of like trying to get to the front of a huge crowd at a concert, where your favourite band is giving away their latest album for free

I have to say, after being in this game for 2 years, I've narrowed down to what I see as most productive; the video below has gotten me more leads than any article - I have to admit though, that video isn't everyone's cup of tea

3 Spam comments on this thread - I guess that is how they think you get traffic.. Where are the mods on this forum ? Mike - come on dude, this has been addressed before and a solution was to be put in place. Get rid of the loser spammers already...

Dez to actually give something to this thread instead of the spam comments we see.....

Building traffic is a constant thing that has to be done day by day.. You set yourself up a scheduled plan of attack. You stick by this plan, no matter how boring data entry stuff is such as bookmarking, blog posting, and etc.. You have a choice - A. Pay for someone else to do the work B. Do the work yourself.

With your plan you want to make sure to include several methods and not just one method of traffic generation. To give an example...

Day1

* Write 2 articles ( 500 - 800+ words)
* Post Articles to "your" favorite article directory (we all know what mine is)
* Bookmark the article to at least 50 of "your" favorite places
* Take snippets of the 2 articles and post on your blog

Day 2

* Create 2 PDF's out of the 2 articles and post to upload sites (ie: scribd.com)
* Take snippets and post on "your" favorite social sites
* Create 2 videos out of the articles
* Upload videos to "your" favorite video site

Day 3

* Bookmark your 2 articles on the upload site
* Post on "your" favorite social site about the 2 videos
* Bookmark your blog post
* Create podcast of your 2 articles

Day 4

* Post your podcast on "your" favorite podcast sites
* Follow up post on your blog using re-written snippets
* Bookmark your blog post
* Bookmark social site post that you have done on day 2 and 3

And etc ... You setup a plan similar to this and notice it involves article marketing, video marketing, file sharing, podcast marketing, blogging, and link building. You are covering a wide ranged area this way with your plan and not always staying on the same exact method.

What is not working so well for you, you need to tweak or hire a professional to help. Now you will notice I used "your" in this plan. The reason why is because I do not think 1 site fits all - in other words while youtube may be good for x kind of video does not mean it will be good for all videos. You may do well with x kind of videos on dailymotion. Same goes for articles, pdf's, bookmarking sites and etc...

Having yourself a plan of attack will help you in the long run instead of just waking up and saying well let's see today I will do this or that. Not being prepared is the worst thing you could do... Having a plan and sticking to it will help you see far better results in the long run..

Great work, Dez! I tried your methods on Google. They work very well. I am getting a lot of traffic to my site from your suggestions. Thank you very much. Problem is that all that traffic coming costs. The costs are gettng expensive to maintain. I am getting the traffic but nobody is biting. After one ad on Google that pulls in a lot of traffic no one is buying the product. It seems that some people in the office just hit on your site just to get the numbers up. It looks good that you are getting the traffic, but nothing on the return. Is there any suggestions on getting the traffic to make the next step?
