I bought ScribeJuice when it was a desktop application. I think
development of it as a desktop thing failed so they went online
with it. It has some cool features but some of the cool things that
are supposed to work never did on the Desktop version. It may
have improved.

There is no shortcut to learning to write good copy. You must write
constantly to stay sharp.

Studying salesmanship is tremendously helpful for copy, more than
many realize. Brian Tracy, Ben Gay III, Jim Pickens, others.

I've read most of the books mentioned here.

My top 5 are:

"Breakthrough Advertising" Schwartz
"Cash Copy" Jeffrey Lant
"Ca$hvertising" Whitman
"Advertising Secrets of the Written Word" Sugarman
& "How to Write a Good Advertisement" Schwab

Herschell Gordon Lewis deals with very specific problems
in written communication and his stuff is very worthwhile
if you take the craft seriously.

Hi Francisco,

Thanks for asking such a great question. I have been so busy trying to learn so many skills that I haven't had the chance to do any real research into Copy Writing.

To date I have only studied Mike Dillard http://intelligent.mlmtrafficformula.com/ who I consider to be one of the best at writing copy. I also get inspiration from other people's emails etc and then try to write my own.

I now have a list of authors to check out.

There are a couple of real books that I didn't see mentioned in this thread that have been with me for a number of years.

They are always close at hand.

Picked up Vitale's Hypnotic Writing and am very impressed. Should be Hypnotic Reading, once you get into it you don't want to put it down. I've already come up with two ways to modify campaigns to produce more results. I'll start split testing tonight.

Will also be looking into Accelerated Programs For Six-figure Copywriting.

Also, has anyone heard of ScribeJuice? Its supposed to be really good, but kinda pricey.
I'm more inclined to go with Mike Dillard's Copywriting Guild at that price point.

I figure every little bit helps, buying books and studying on my own is one thing. But software to do it for you is another (you don't learn anything from software).

Has anyone heard of or knows anything about ScribeJuice, I'd be interested in hearing from you.

It is a good start for learning copywrite by compiling a list of resources. However, I can locate many copy writing tips and information almost in everywhere: e-mail, internet advertisement, articles, and newpapers. I write it on the index card when I see something special. I digest why the words or phases are used.

The best method to master the copywrite is to write the articles as often as you can. I ask my friends, family members to edit for me.I don't hestitate to ask my kids' advises either. I make my determination to learn the mistakes that they point out.

Without a doubt the greatest way to write copy is to understand the "why" in people. The best book I have ever read on a subject that will help you write better is "Waiting for your cat to bark" written by Brian Eisenberg.

Most people who go to write just start writing not considering who they are writing to defined not by the demographics but the psychographics (the way people think, act, talk, and respond). Understanding this will help you greatly. What we do is build character profiles and then write towards them.

A great example is Best Buy. They have a character called "Jane" and all their marketing and sales will sell to Jane. Everything written or designed is to appeal to "Jane".
