As soon as I tell them what I am currently doing business wise, the 1st words out of their mouth is, "What is your companies compensation plan?" Like a robot programed! :ugeek:

In my mind I feel as though I am being set up because they automatically try to flip the conversation about how good their plan is or better their plan is compared to everything else out there. I could care less because I am happy with where I am but they insist on talking.

Just trying to see what others out there have experienced
and what do you do when someone tries ramming their comp plan down your throat!

That is what I hate about people trying to recruit me. A smart recruiter would show their compensation plan without telling the prospect that their plan is better. Let the prospect decide after they see the compensation plan. Secondly, I would not ask someone about their compesnation plan unless I want to join. I'll admit some of the amatuer tactics I would be tempted to do back in the day.

I have just stopped promoting a company I am with and switch to another company to a large degree because of the compensation plan. So to me it's very important, especially seen as the average person at my level is earning just over $6,000 a month.

Though I certainly don't believe in pushing anything on anybody.

To me it's all about focusing on the other person and been a servant leader. Having their best interests at heart. And that is one of the reasons the compensation plan really does matter.

Merry Christmas!

Hanszech, that is EXACTLY the point I am trying to make!!!! Great relationships, Everyone helping one another, and simply just having fun. Somewhere, Somehow, Someone decided to put a twist on this whole MLM opportunity and simply destroyed it. I'm calling Preisdent Bush in the morning, I'm going to ask him to "BAIL US OUT." I will provide him with a Progess report at the end of 1st Quarter, and then ask for some more money for 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarter. That way, by the end of the year we will ALL be on the same COMP PLAN, and no one will be better than anyone in the Network Marketing WORLD!!!

Have Fun, and ENJOY Life!!!

Its not important to push your comp plan down anybody's throat because it pushes people away and if you learn to take some initiative on the people who are not interested in your business you can make a nice income on that alone.

Despite the fact you are excited to promote your business to everyone and i am sure they have a wonderful comp plan and incentives, the lasting way to build success is to build TRUST bottom line.

Network-marketing is about building relationships not about a great sales pitch or who has the best promotion.

Round and Round we go. This is a relationship business and teaching/duplicating business. Form good, strong, honest relationships. Sponsor those who want to join you after you've gotten to know one another.s Teach your down line how to duplicate the system that brings you success selling widget (as Malika said) or sponsoring others to sell widgets. This is the essence of network marketing.

But...when you are looking to join a company, study the compensation plan. Some are truly easier to deal with and more fair to distributors than others. If you're company has an excellent compensation plan, you will make more money selling your widgets, than one that has a trickier plan. The main reason has to do with duplication and retention of your down line. If everyone is happy, then they stick around.

There are so many things wrong with bringing up or even comparing your comp plan with a potential prospect. I have learned through trial and error, that my rich is not his/her rich. Meaning, when I "FIRST" started out MANY years ago, I will never forget when I sat down with a client who was interested in my opportunity. I recall literally doing my presentation on a milk crate, there were "LIVE" chickens running in the house, and it was very cold and clammy as well.

The presentation went well, I listened, I kept doing temperature checks, and I kept him involved the whole time. Here is where I blew it. I closed by conducting the F.E.B.A. aproach, Fact-Evidence-Benefit-Agreement. I said, the Fact is yada yada, the Benefit to you is yada yada, the Evidence is what I just presented to you, and "Don't you AGREE that with this opportunity you can escape all this and live the life you truly deserve!"

I lost the deal. I insulted him because he was "VERY HAPPY" with that life, and was truly only looking for something to do on the side. You see, in HIS mind, he was already RICH. He did not care about making Millions. He was not broke, he was a very humlbed man who saw life DIFFERENTLY than I did.

This happened to me over 14 years ago. To this day, I feel the pain of that presentation. I never meant to insult him. I truly knew that he was going to join because of "My Vision" for him, because of what I felt was right for him.

With all that said, my point is this. Your Rich is not my Rich. YOUR goals are not MY goals. And YOUR Dreams are not MY Dreams.

When talking to a Newbie or a Seasoned Network Marketer, always get to know each other first, talk about each others goals/dreams, and then when asked and ONLY when asked about your comp plan, have it readily available for them to take home for their review. If they are interested, and have questions, they will contact you. That way, no one is insulted, coerced, or dethroned while conducting a professional presentation.

That "SORRY EXCUSE" of a presenation if you can call it that, was my turning point on learning the VALUES of others in this business.

People will join when they are ready, and believe me when I say this, It will NOT be over your compensation plan!!! So work on your people skills, and build that RELATIONSHIP!!!

Take care, and God Bless

Your Friend,

Jose

There are different compensation plans out there.
The ''mine is better than yours'' approach turns a lot of people off.
Assuming that the opportunity in question is legal, all compensation plans have good parts.
There are some people that can make any comp plan work in their favor,
and then there are other people that have to match their personality types to the comp plan.
In any case, ''my deal is better than yours'' never works...
By approaching people like that all you'll get is a sellsman alarm going off.

I appreciate you,

Matt,

The people who fight for it being ok to insult you by basically asking you how much $$$ you make in your first conversation are the ones who do it. The most famous bunch for that actually use really bad free training (more like brain washing, hence the robotic :geek: feel of the line of questioning) which promotes this desperate behavior.

No one like to be made to look like a fool (I think that was in how to win friends and influence people) or told they were stupid to not have made a better choice, even if it's true!

So why bother right? Because it works on some just often enough for people to continue teaching it... sad but true.

Saying the compensation plan is very important is like saying how much your significant other makes was the very important too. For some of us it was/is and it's perfectly fine.

But, it's not that way for everyone obviously... Some of us actually want to know we can learn to sell the widgets :-) and not just that selling one could potentially earn us a squillion more dollars if we join your comp plan.

Start talking dollars and sense to me, you've lost me... I've had the same comp plan for 10 years and I couldn't tell you if its binary or matrix or what!

So me how your selling a squillion of those widgets and It doesn't matter if I make pennies per sale... I'll be a squillionaire soon enough...

I let my potential prospects tell me which one, if any of the features and benefits, is most important for them. THEN WE TALK ABOUT THAT. It's not for me or you to decide... its not about what we think is most important.

It's likely to be a little different for everyone. Just ask people... just ask.

Malika
P.S. I give 'em a piece of my mind every chance I get. I told the last guy who sent me a link so I could tell him, "if it made sense", that i felt like he just asked me to put my hands down his pants and tell him it I liked what I feel  .

I am not offended by the thought of the discussion. I more get offended when someone tries to almost one up me in a conversation almost talking over me trying to say how they have the best Plan and what I have does not even compare enough for then to shut up and listen for a second!
It works for me get over it!
(This is me talking in the setting in which the main topic is, to another person in general)
