This is an Interesting thread, there appear to have been some nerves hit as well, which always happens in this type of Enviroment. However when all is said and done, Social Media Marketing is like any other form of Marketing ~ And this probably endorses a few of the Contributors, you NEED the Following Ingredients

A List ~ Without that you have NO monetisation

B A FREE lead Generation System ~ One that allows you to Build your OWN list ( Funded Proposal is THE way forward)

C Build The Relationship ~ Without this, you are dead in the water~ and that means Networking

D Leadership ~ WE all like to have some Direction & someone to Follow, WE have TRIBE mentality

With ALL of those ATTRIBUTES in place, you have the Elements to Building a Successfull Downline as well as keeping them abreast of any relevant News.

Hey Ken,

You're so right. I just read a book that talked about this exact thing.

Randy Gage has a new generic training book (it's only 66 pages). It is called "Making the First Circle Work: The Foundation for Duplication in Network Marketing". It's a pretty cool little book and it talks about this exact thing... People will do what you do... and duplication and leadership all starts with you, not your team... It really struck a chord with me and I'm going to buy a bunch of copies to pass out to my leaders.

Its a generic training, doesn't mention anything about specific companies...

I agree. The company you're involved in should have a high quality product that people want, need and use every day. (or at least quite often.) As a distributor you should also believe in your product. If you don't no one else will either. I believe It should be something that you use personally. On the side of the "opportunity"... It should pay well, be "do-able", realistic and attainable and something you should not have to spend 20 minutes explaining. I think all variables are important. Also the leadership. training, customer service and experience of the owners fits in there as well. When it comes to building your team. personally, I try to lead by example. That way, my team will be more likely to follow. People want leaders that "walk the walk" and not just "talk the talk." You should be genuinely passionate about what you do, the product you offer and company you represent and try to the best of your ability to be as helpful, supportive and available for your team. If you're not, more than likely, they will see right through you and just jump ship when the "next best thing" comes along.

Getting back on topic...

The key to building a successful downline in any MLM is YOU!

Without a doubt, forget the opportunity ( YOU wouldn't join a crap, scammy, poor opportunity would YOU?)

If you offer poor value, poor leadership, poor service, your downline will suffer as a result. Period!

Unfortunately the majority of network marketers never invest enough time and effort to make themselves valuable to the community they serve. Serving up some replicated system is the best they can offer and they wonder why their attrition rate is so high.

That said, it's safe to say that, their is always room at the top.

Really cool post Devon! I like the idea of getting out there and going to see the opportunity meetings in your community.

But otherwise this entire thread had turned into the weirdest mash-up of disagreements and opinions. I'm exhausted from reading all of this arguing.

Let's Keep It Real
Good point. I think a lot of companies focus on the opportunity more than the products. The concept of attraction marketing isn't really about the comp plan or the products, it's about the people. However once people get their foot in the door, we have to show them our opportunity. I think it's best to have a good comp plan as well as product. If a company offers a substantial sign up bonus but has mediocre product it will generate commissions in the short run but will run dry in the long run.

I am always open to opportunities and I love to goto company meetings. I went to 2 recent meetings.
One of which I got a bad vibe from and looked promising but I was getting mixed messages from the person who brought me and the "millionaire" presenter. Being as young as I am, I respect people who are successful but I don't think any ONE person should be the highlight of a company. If that person is on a pedestal and the cat gets out of the bag the company will sink like the titanic.

The Best Of Both Worlds
The other meeting I went to was very small and exclusive. I honestly though it was going to be a waste of my time but I wanted to engage with network marketers and show them what I had going on. They were impressed with my business marketing platform and it turned out their company wasn't just another run of the mill. The product sold itself and I honestly don't see how anyone could live without it. The company is in it's pre-launch phase and looks very promising.

My point it I think it is great to have quality leadership, a simple and profitable comp plan, and a product that sells itself.

The Key, The number one key is Leadership!! And take massive action, First understand that you are your company so finding the right company does not do any justice. you can search all over the world looking for the right company and all you will end up doing is wasting alot of time and not make and cash.

Become that leader and take massive action, If you do that your business will explode. There is no secrets just take action

What means right or not? You mean not suitable for the people, who trying to promote or you mean
scam or not scam?

I think wrong opportunity is opportunity, which firstly not alive at least 5 years (because 80% new opened programs online being closed after 2 years), have legitimate paypal,
valuable products and support.

Top
