We should talk privately about keyword list building and campaign grouping ... you see I keep a dummy account that I use to test keywords per the landing page ... with limited expenditure and place winning terms in like ad groups and campaigns to keep CTR through the entire campaign pretty high as it's tested before it even hits clients account ... what this does is lowers your overall costs considerably ... We can talk about using this tactic and more ... don't want to get too techy on the forum and leaving everyone saying HUH!!!! lol

people starting out for the first time on Adwords don't know how to pick keywords and write ads that get 30 cent clicks bro. that's an important consideration Google should make.

Besides, even an expert starting a new campaign can rarely get it that cheap. Think about someone like me who starts out campaigns for clients in MULTIPLE different markets regularly. Even the best of keyword research still takes time to see any useful results in a market you're still unfamiliar with.

To each his own, but a $25 campaign run over 3 days with keywords circa 30 cents a click ... you should be able to test things out on a small scale ...

The problem exists when individuals get too broad or too aggressive with the bidding ... sending them into the $1 plus area, yes some industries are tougher than others ... but I hope no one hear even thinks about advertising under the "Home Based Business" keyword as it seems to attract non business minded people, but we've known that for years right ?

you know what bums me out about those dumb coupons of Google's is that they KNOW their own platform costs far too much to really allow you to do more than a day or so's worth of testing with $75.

that's my opinion. but i guess they don't really want you to do much free advertising...they just want you to take the leap of starting a campaign. so i guess it works for them. i just reckon it would be super helpful if they gave out $500 credits to let people really experience the power of their system.

Take a look I mean why buy leads from a vendor ? they are not targeted the vendors focus is on quantity not quality to fulfill orders...and tend to cater to the low end of the market

Whereas with google in ppc or seo you are able to TARGET, refine, and find your own niche

Thanks Contempo for your support.
I will look at Google again.
When starting out on a small budget it can get a little daunting to pay for all the leads upfront before you get a sale. Many have advised not to get into this area while starting out on a small budget.
I will take your advice and look at the advantages of using Google as a marketing tool.

Mario

Sorry that your experience with Google was no too positive ...

but I love Google, managing over 100K a month of ad spend for all of my clients in total... I have to say Google not only makes my clients happy but keeps me in business as well...

You cannot approach Google as a thrift advertising medium, in fact it is a premium advertising medium that does require a bit of know how. If you know nothing about marketing GOOGLE WILL BURN YOU!!! FAST & BAD and this is why they offer the free credits that allow new advertisers to get comfortable with their system, and tweak an effective marketing campaign a'la "small scale" ...

But when you are generating leads from this service at $1.25 a lead I guess one tends to be a bit biased to the platform... so I apologize for being such an advocate

Again I love Google and hope others can learn to love it too...

Thanks for mentioning this free trial offer, Contempo.
I joined Google Adwords some time ago. I posted some articles on this site. I paid the usual fee in relation to the articles. I ran a trial to see the kind of traffic I was looking for. I paid the fee monthly. I only ran it for a few months. I stopped the ads from Google. Let's say, to give it a rest. But Google continued and ran the articles again after my request to discontinue the ads for awhile.
I hope this free trial offer is not a bait and switch to get someone to join and continue to pay them longer than you wish. I got no results with my trial.

Just thought I'd share

https://services.google.com/fb/forms/adwordscoupon/

if you are thinking of getting into adwords but want to minimize your monetary exposure, the following link offers $75 in credits for new accounts

And for those who have hosting with Godaddy, login to your account and redeem your credit from there as well. Nothing new amazing or shocking but definitely could help a lot of guys especially those on the beginners end of the learning curb
