Starting a business is a very rewarding feeling, and the Internet has made the entry point for budding entrepreneurs extremely affordable. You no longer need to have tens of thousands (or more) of starting capital in order to start a successful business.

Back in 2008 (before I got into network marketing) I made my first sale online without spending a blog, organic traffic from article marketing, and selling an affiliate product. Is this the path I would recommend? Absolutely not...having some resources to invest is a great way to get a jump start online, however I wanted to point this out just to show others that it can be done.

Do not let money be the obstacle to starting your network marketing business, because you CAN start a successful business on a shoestring budget & then make sure to reinvest, reinvest, reinvest!!!

Starting an online or store front business? Same principles apply for a general business startup. With an online business you reach the global market immediately with fast online transaction processing. What type of business are you going to start, are you mentally, physically and financially ready, do you have a business plan, do have a CPA for financial and tax advice, an attorney for legal advice, how are you handling marketing, etc. The SBA – Small Business Association is a great place to start researching your ideas and what needs to set up your business. Difference- online business is 24/7, brick and mortar closes at a particular time. Keep in mind that jobs and business have no borders.

In all of these business models, focus and discipline are very important. You must have a purpose plus short and long term plans to maintain this focus and diligence. While many people are apprehensive about having their own ventures, some love the challenge and associated risks and rewards that come about from taking the chance. Let’s think about it, the best way to live life to the fullest is in a state of financial freedom. To get to financial freedom we need to plan, dedicate the time, have the mind set and allocate the energy and time to accomplish this. “So, yes, the world has changed. The competition for jobs is real. But this shouldn't discourage us. It should challenge us. Remember -- for all the hits we've taken these last few years, for all the naysayers predicting our decline, America still has the largest, most prosperous economy in the world.” State of the Union 2012: Obama speech transcript

Mind set in business is so absolutely important, get rid of your poor values that hinder progress. We need to think like large business owners and not an employee to motivate ourselves to work harder to the goal of financial freedom. The world has changed, the way of doing business and marketing ourselves has changed, for some it has brought much pain, but like a friend shared an image with me that said, Success is like pregnancy. Everybody congratulates you but nobody knows how many times you tried to achieve it.

Capital can be a hindrance to starting a business and stops many people from following their dream of having their own business. Is capital really a problem or is it the mental capital? Let’s look at Network Marketing/MLM, what does this business cost to become involved? Very little capital is needed to become an affiliate, plus a computer and your smart phone. This is the perfect business to open up and still maintain your normal job especially with its time factor and the fact that you are your own boss. Use the internet to help future customers and business partners learn more about you and the details about what you sell and why your products or services are different and better for them than other competitors.
