Point well taken Randy! Your suggestion keeps communications clear, fair, and balanced!

I would have to agree with Randy on this one I get at least 2 messages a day from people that are new to the site and they have not set up there account to receive messages and didn't even know you had to . So if we need to have it set so you don't receive messages then there needs to be some form of letting people know before they send a message that they will not be able to receive a response back. Just my thoughts ON the matter I understand the spam messages but there are new people asking for help around the site and it looks bad if they have 10 messages on there profile telling them they need to change there settings.

I have also had people message me but I am not able to reply, now that's not fair lol

Sending out mass mailings like that is probably why BN gives people the option to not receive messages. I don't know but if you're sending out 30 at a time they are probably not personal messages to each individual and could be construed as spam. Just a guess.

I agree, who wants to be on the side of a one way conversation...Autoresponders are for sending quality content and free advice, not shameless self promotion.

Thanks for the post. I had not experienced this and didn't know it to be a problem. I'll have to check my settings.

I think it would be a great idea if the administrators of this site could make it to where you could not send out private messages if you have not also fixed your settings to accept them back.

In other words if I send out a private message and my settings don't allow someone to send back to me, then disallow me from sending it.

Have a message pop up that says, "You are not allowed to send private messages without first fixing your settings to receive messages back. Please go to such and such location to fix your settings."

Thanks,

Randy Enman
