The easiest place to reply would have been to click on the large banner on the home page titled "Changes to your BN Membership" and add a Facebook comment at the bottom.

There are three places that we see SPAM on the site....

1. Content 2. Forums 3. Comments

1. 99% of Content SPAM is the result of free accounts created for the sole purpose of spamming the site. This is addressed with the member plan change since free accounts will no longer be posting content. Therefore nearly all new content spam will immediately be illiminated.

2. Forum SPAM will still be a concern since free members will still be interacting in the forums. In the coming months we will be moving to an entirely new forum to address this. As it stands now you are able to report forum SPAM. And the site is "self policed". In addition to our support team removing SPAM, some of our community leaders also function as site moderators and remove spam as they see it.

3. Comment SPAM is only relevant to comments on content posted more than a year ago. Last year we integrated Facebook commenting for all new content. We no longer use our internal comment system with the exception of keeping it intact for older content.

Leaving all that spam around is supposed to justify the $197/yearly fee? NOT working - put a button there and give Senior Members some delete privileges and call it a day - a BETTER day for networkers who will gladly help keep this place spam free so you can REDUCE your monthly fees by that "whopping 40% recurring commission" and save yourself the hassles that go along with affiliate programs in general.

What about members who joined 1 or more years ago? Those members should be able to renew for $197 less the 40% commission you won't have to pay out. Make that for annual renewals only and watch how many current members [LIKE ME] renew every single year.

BetterNetworker is NOT for everyone. We are confident that value that we offer far exceeds the cost, however you are welcome to enjoy the community as a free/guest member.

Why would a Guest Member want to join the Association of Better Networkers? Members of the community share the answer in our new video.

The bottom line is that your concerns about SPAM are valid. However we have been actively putting a fence around the issue and we have have ongoing initiatives in place to address it going forward.

"Guest Member" or "ABN Member" we expect that you will find value here that will help you grow yourself and your business.

Wishing you much success

I spent the last 15 minutes looking for a place to post my feedback about your recent email too. :)

The cost of ABN membership will continue to be $19.95 each month (after a 14 day trial), or $197 per year. BetterNetworker will be paying ABN members a whopping 40% recurring commission on all referrals.

You do have a good content advertising program going - the only thing missing is REPORT SPAM next to the REPLY button! I think it was Mike Dillard who said, "Imperfect action is better than no action at all" and that's true until you start charging members for it . . .

Hey Better Networker,

Not sure if this is the place for this post, what with all the personal advice being given about non relevant stuff :) , but I wanted to say well done, it's a really good idea to make the changes you announced in the email today.

I'm looking forward to the transition that will take place within the BetterNetworker community as you introduce changes to the member plan.

I'm going to upgrade again now, after 12 months of watching this community be inundated with spam this will propel Better Networker into a whole new level.

Touch choices have to be made and I'm glad you are making them.

Cheers

Mike Ruffles
