I would like to point out that is nothing wrong to have a mentor or a mastermind if your company or organization doesn`t have in place a good supportive system with a Proven recipe on How to Build a Perpetual Money Making Machine!

Success can`t depend on some person or a mentor, because you make a decision(I`m gonna do it, that`s it period) You don`t need a sponsor, mentor etc.because is gonna feed your need of thinking that u can`t do it.
You can Do it when u take 100% responsibility for your life.

It doesn`t matter where are you at, but where are you going when u define your dream and get a burning desire for it`s achievement.

Yes, Juanita, I am in total agreement we do need all three. First and foremost we need a burning desire to propel us forward, but having a mentor, team and Mastermind group make the "trip" a fun journey. They help me to keep focused and I know that they are there Anytime I Need Them! Now that's a great feeling!

It is necessary to make sure that all 3 contain people who care for you and want what you want.
Having 3 makes the "rope" stronger, kinda like a lifeline. Thank you for your subject, it is important for people to know How Good This Business can be, especially when you have all 3, made up of the right people!

I mean I consider Daegan, JB, Norbert, Brian & Mike Dillard my "mentors" because these are the leaders that I follow and get training from. But Im not personally being mentored by them. I had to make the decision to invest in myself and join their programs and get their courses.

I don't have a mastermind group...that's why I use communities like BN and MLSP to connect with people like myself and see what strategies are working for them...what training and courses they have had success with...just to see what other people are doing in general.

In my network marketing company I became inactive and rejoined. I had no idea who my upline was and how to contact them, so as far as a team goes I didn't have one...but I wasn't going to let that stop me & that is how I got involved in "internet network marketing"

Now that I have groomed myself as a leader and added value to myself I can assure "my team" that I will aid them in their path to freedom...I welcome anyone who wants to mastermind with me as well :)

So I guess to answer your question...I believe that it is up to the person to find success. You will meet people to help you along the way, but if you're really determined you will make a way!

How is that working for you I would like to know if you just started that will take time but maybe in 6 months give us the details on how it actually works.

WOW you made some really great points.

Sounds like you had a really BIG "WHY".

So many times after we join a company our upline, sideline and other wise, disappears and we, the prospect/new distributor's are left on their own. Sadly many quit and holler scam, which gives MLM such a bad and unnecessary rap.

Sounds like you are well on you way!

Much success

Hello Juanita,

I believe that while you could possibly experience some degree of success by, as Sammie Davis Jr used to say "I DID IT MY WAY" or "DOING IT YOUR OWN WAY", having a mentor can save you lot's of unnecessary pain and pitfalls along the journey.

Being mentored and learning from someone who has, shall we say, "been there and done that" is a whole lot better along your entrepreneurial travels, than going down a road, by yourself, that you've never been down before. And, you'd probably experience much faster results.

Also, having a mentor, especially one that believes in you, will most likely help in keeping you motivated.

And if you have a committed team mentoring you, and one another, WOW, you are just that much more better off.

That's what sucks about working in a job, many times we are competeing and therefore fearful of mentoring others, thinking, they might get the position instead of you.

I like what Anthony Robbins say's, "find someone who is having success in something you'd like to do and follow in their footsteps, or better yet get them to mentor you." AND, "success leaves clues."

Zig Ziglar say's "help enough people to get what they want and then you will get what you want!"

Mentoring benefits both the mentor and the mentoree.

Willie

You must align yourself with people who are on the same path or have gotten to where you want to be.

Great post Juanita...

I totally agree with you Juanita.

No man, woman or network marketer is an island - we need all three of the things you mentioned.
A mentor that we can trust to tell us the truth about what we're doing wrong or well. And this doesn't have to be the same person who sponsored you.
A team to give us a sense of community and belonging. This work can be very isolating at times. And it's always better to celebrate victories with others.
A Mastermind group to help with ideas, leadership development, etc.

Great post!
