Any Advantage to Knowing the Next Big Book Release Title?

Postby Mike Klingler on Sat Feb 14, 2009 3:17 am

If you knew the title, Magnetic Sponsoring, The Renegade Network Marketer, The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing, Building on a Budget, or PPC Domination weeks before everyone else did, can you guess what the advantages might be by leveraging this knowledge through your own marketing?

I call this strategy "Leveraging the News" and it can be applied to any new key word search term that you can anticipate people will be searching for on PPC or throughout the SEO world.

By just thinking about the question for a moment, how would you imagine someone could benefit by knowing the book title or key words that would soon be a big buzz search term like the titles I gave above (before the masses knew about it).

Can you guess how someone could position themselves to know about such terms before the masses do, and how they could pre-position themselves to dominate when such an opportunity arose?

Uh... the answer is Yes :-)

Knowing the book title before the launch is a huge advantage. Even if you're just one of the earlier ones AFTER a launch--it's big. That's how I built list after list.

A side note (but related, though only a few will catch it):

People who choose camps--you're playing small.

Leveraging the News

For some reason your post reminded me of Back to the Future II where Marty gets greedy and picks up a copy of Grays Sports Almanac but in a plot twist it gets into the hands of Biff, and history (or should I say the future) is irrevocably changed.

So yes, I can understand the point you're making and the advantage of knowing a book title before it's being released. Because leveraging the news takes a certain speed of implementation, having a book title (that you know is going to be HUGE) before the masses do...well, there's a distinct marketing advantage that should be seized upon.

Although, I'm finding not everyone understands all the fundamental ingredients for leveraging the news, and there is a lot to it - more than just creating a blog post and a relevantly similar hub or squidoo. I realize that I fall into this category and that's why I so advocated for furthering one's internet marketing education.

For example, I am not yet able to do what Fernando Ceballos or Joe O'Day were able to do with the launch of Black Belt Recruiting or PPC Domination (as they mastered SEO without incoming links) and I don't yet have the extended marketing clout that Mike Klingler does with such examples as The 7 Great Lies Controversy.

Yet I'm learning, and learning fast. By year's end I will have implemented all the examples I've referenced in this thread...WHY? Because I'm a learner who is not afraid to make mistakes (which is to say I don't have a fear-based mentality). Furthermore, I want to give back as much as Mike Dillard, Fernando Ceballos & Raymond Fong and Mike Klingler, these guys are my models; my teachers and the best teachers are always the best learners.

One thing I do understand is Value, and here is where I can really contribute something for the masses of smart attraction marketers who are taking the evolving meaning of value seriously...Practice this speed of implementation-leverage-the-news exercise, but don't leave that content for dead; don't let your content get stale. Instead, go back and add more to it as time passes. Find various relevant aspects or even add to your content based upon something that was written in the comments. I see Mike Klingler did that in his blog here at BetterNetworker over the last couple days with his post titled I'd Like To Share Your Answer With Our Community: What's the Difference Between "Giving Value" vs. "Pitching"?
