I'm jumping in this thread, more or less, hoping to resurrect this conversation...I'm coming upon it, and amazed at the relevancy and implication it has for BetterNetworker.

There has been a lot of talk lately about how to keep BetterNetworker "clean" and an ideal social networking location. The content within this forum should be a study.

Of particular note is Ferny's original post, he links to an article at Charles Heflin's blog titled, Do You Have a Bunch of Worthless Friends?. This is must read stuff -- Charles discusses his "O.G.R.E.S. relationship management formula" - genius in its simplicity and a practice that everyone can adopt to be more successful with Social Media.

Furthermore, in the post above me, Ina refers to Seth Godin's book Tribes (Seth is the creator/founder of Squidoo). I have purchased this book, and I also agree that it is worthwhile. An excellent study about the spread of ideas and the leveraging power of collaboration in social media. Go HERE to read the Squidoo lens.

Hi Eric,

Thanks for referring folks to my articles on how to use Better Networker. I appreciate it. You're truly implementing Charle's OGRES formula.

With regard to you wanting to resurrect this conversation, I think what's important for community members to do is keep a list of articles, forum threads and conversation handy.

Even make it part of your About Me section on your profile. That way, you can easily refer people to training they should be getting when you start a conversation with them. As a result, they will love you for making things really easy for them.

And the authors of the content will love you too.

I keep notes of the folks in this community who have gone out of their way to spread the word of my content. I keep it as a rolodex of folks I can trust and would want to do things with in the future. ;)

Keep up the great work, Eric.
