I wouldn't rule it out, but I certainly wouldn't pay for it. You would be better off getting a subscription to AMR or a blog network like AMA. :D

If its free....do it. But don't pay since its really not worth it and you might not get a listing anyway.

Hope this helps.

What Matt gave you was a good start, and there are literally thousands of listing directories you can list or gain back links from, and many good, and many not so good, but you can just hire me for a very reasonable fee to list you with 25 or 50 business directories a month. 8-)

I do create more than a few unique listings, so you are getting credit for your directory links in the major Search Engines. Just contact me through my member's page, or my site below, and we can go from there.

It doesn't hurt but it's not going to help much for competitive keywords, you often aren't going to get targeted keyword text from the directory links.

What's important these days is getting your pages and links on the directories noticed by the search engine. I would look for a service where they provide the URL's, so you can build an additional layer of backlinks to them for extra link juice and to make sure they actually get found and indexed.

fiverr.com is a great place to find cheap services to do the directory submissions for you, just try and find one which provides the final URL's

Since I got this guy giving a fiverr as a reference to try to "one up" me I guess :D I have to say, that what he said is half true, and you can ask me what half I'm talking about:))

Anyway, just wondering want kind of professional wants to do something for five bucks? Maybe, maybe not, and if it takes them no time at all, again maybe if they are desperate enough I'm sure as many of Fivrr are (e.g. like slapping or painting a sign of your business on their forehead - not a bad idea, and I might give a fiverr for that! LOL!). Marketing 101, Never come across desperate, and B) who is going to higher an amateur to do their link building, directory or otherwise.

Anyway, fivrr seems like it may be good for many low level "no brainer" tasks, but there is some thought about how to create unique directory listings and back links as listings get posted, so who's going to spend all that time doing unique listings? Slim and none and slim left town.

Right, even with very low level directory listings, it still takes well thought out listings that are going to have unique back links from each to your site to get them counted as votes from google or otherwise.

You keep posting the same listing in 1,000 directories for example, very few will be counted as serious votes because they are not unique and so google knows that many were probably not done by a human, but were automated and that's one way for them to gage your listings, and of course just "sandbox" 99% of them if that is the case.

Anyway, if I were you, I would take your fivrr and go get lunch with it instead, it would be a better investment anyway. :D
