Hey forum,
I've been running some facebook ads for the first time ever this week. I've had no prior experience with it.
I've also managed to get onto google adwords again in spite of my previous slapping experience.
I have absolutely no idea how to interpret my facebook ad statistics. It's a lot different from google's, and the facebook ads are quite expensive in comparison. Maybe someone can tell me what they think about these stats?
To give you an idea, with google i recently got a 14% ctr paying 27 cents (USD) a click, but with facebook i'm paying $1.14 USD per click, thats 4.2 times the price for a click.
my facebook ads stats:
Campaign Reach 10,867
Frequency 4.6
Social Reach 0
Connections 0
Clicks 14
CTR 0.028%
i've been getting about 3-4 clicks a day based on my budget settings. impressions from the first day (for 4 days so far) has been 20K, 16k, 10k, and 3k respectively.
I don't know if thats a good thing or not.
i've had 4 new leads on my list since i started advertising.
lastly, who'se facebook advertising course do you guys recommend?
take care,
Marius

Re: Facebook Ad Statistics
Well, the good news is that the CEO of the parent company told me they pay 3.3 times more per lead than i do. I guess that's a pretty good start.
But I'd still like some comments from someone who knows more about facebook ads than I do, just to compare apples with apples (the parent advertised in the newspapers)
I'm also still open to hearing about good facebook advertising courses...
Take care,
Marius

Marius,
It is really difficult to try and judge the success or failure of your ads when
it really is dependant on how much you are earning for each of your leads.
Just figure out what your earnings are per lead and adjust your campaigns accordingly.
I have not yet ran any facebook ppc ads, so I really hated to jump into this question
kinda of blind, but if you are generating leads at a price that is keeping you in the
profit then you are doing just fine.

Re: Facebook Ad Statistics
Hi!!!
The first thing you need to know is that in Google Adwords the people is actually looking for something, while in facebook the people is browsing the latest photo album or something when they might catch your ad. That's why in the statistics the CTR (Click through rate) is normally in facebook really small.
Second, Fb has the campaing reach. That's the number of people that actually saw the ad (well, maybe not saw, but Fb rendered it while the people was browsing). When you make your ad, you restrict your audience. The campaing reach is of all that people in your audience, how much people has actually seen your ad.
Third, Social reach. That's the people who saw your add, access it, plus their friends who liked whatever it is that the people made in your page after saw your ad. That's only if your advertising something inside facebook.

Re: Facebook Ad Statistics
well I have to say 14% CTR is amazing but guessing that is a typo, as the gold standard for Google is 2% ...now maybe your CTR will go down through averaged out data (assuming it's paused and resumed with short running time) - although a 1.4% CTR is pretty darn good in some respects...Good job keep up the good work

I have heard praise from Jonathan Budd's Get Traffic 3.0...its the only one of its kind dedicated only to Facebook PPC. To be honest I have not tried it out yet...I am currently getting traffic to my websites using paid media...maybe you should try a hand at those first.

Re: Facebook Ad Statistics
When we compare the average timing of user spending on a website,
1) Typically the PPC traffic from Google will be on the website for at least 45 seconds and a lot of times, well into 1m 50 seconds or better.
2) To compare that to Facebook, the average time on site for someone coming from Facebook to a website is about 10 seconds.
That is a pretty dramatic difference.
