Hi,
For a while now I have been considering the relative benefits between search and content PPC. Obviously search is highly targetted and you know when someone clicks on your ad, providing you have targetted the keywords and phrases properly, they have an interest in what you have to offer. The downside of course is that for those keywords that pay, many will be cost-prohibitive to bid against.
So we come to the content network. Advantage is that clicks tend to have a lower associated cost, but disadvantage is that the users are not specifically targetting your opportunity necessarily.
But my question to those who have been using both methods for a while is this: Can you also assume that the clicks themselves are of a lower quality coming from the content network?
Would love to hear peoples thoughts on this...
Thanks to you all,
Matt

Personally I love the content network. The real value of the clicks in the content network you need to determine yourself through testing. Yes, there are lots of garbage clicks on content, but if you can filter through those and get to the quality clicks....you'll get a ton of valuable traffic.

Well in my point of view I love the Google Content Network. I have set up campaigns where I just simply use the content network itself and not the Search network.
Here are a few reasons why I use and how I use. I typically use the Content Network for CPA or Free Trial Offers. Let's say I'm promoting a skin care product.
I'll use the Content Network to target websites about beauty, skin care, and where a lot of women would be. Then I would create an ad around this and get a lot of clicks and a ton of sales.
Also the CPC is a lot lower than the Search network. So I love using it as it makes me a lot of money.
