In fact, most factors don't have as much weight as most people think. There are reportedly over 100 ranking factors - some say over 200. Each has their own weight. Focusing on one factor is not what you should be doing to improve your rankings. You have to focus on what is more important, those factors which have the most weight.

Keyword in domain name is HUGE.

How do you know?

Look at the "gooroo" launches. Who is usually at the top. Keyword domain names.

I've tested this over and over again.


If you can get your keyword in your domain name, you will have a far easier time with SEO.

Domain name age is very important.

That being said, content and links also very important. You can't really control the age of your site, but you can control the other two factors.

As your site gets older, you will pass the sites above you, especially if you have more content and links.

As for a domain like --> www.YourSite.com/Catagory/Keyword

This only really works if your main domain is a high PR, and/or if you have good backlinks going to it and being anchor text backlinks. Remember, quality over quantity if you're building backlinks.

Just because someone says you can get 10,000 backlinks
for only $25, doesn't mean they will help your site any.

Because no matter how many time you multiply zero, it's still going to be zero....


There's a lot of people who will give you the wrong information
about backlinks are backlinks and are al the same.

But you want Quality backlinks, anchor text backlinks, variety of backlinks.

But before backlinks come into play, you must ALWAYS make sure your on-page SEO is top notch.
