PPC-Help w/landing page?

Postby Gregory Elfrink on Sun Feb 08, 2009 9:34 pm

Hi everyone,

So I am making a landing page using Roxor.com.

Here it is www.recruitmagnet.roxer.com

I wanted to use it as a way to promote my Magnetic Sponsoring capture page with adwords w/o violating their policies with affiliate programs and masking affiliate links.

What do you think? What do you like/dislike? And what advice do you have for me?

All the best,
Gregory Elfrink

Thanks Dean!

Hey no worries, not taken as a negative at all. I completely agree with you.

Where can the non-tech savvy find a way to build a capture page? I know you mentioned once some host servers offer them for a pretty nominal fee.

I need to figure out this stuff, and quickly.

Please respond as soon as possible my friend!

All the best,

PS. How do I attract more of the exec-level types?

There is a software for free, you can use, which I cover on this video. I don't know if that's what you want. This video shows how to create a lead capture page, but obviously, you use the skill then to adapt to your audience.

Well, at least you've started and yes, there is some work to be done, especially getting your own domain. This is covered with Magnetic Sponsoring plus ebooks in backend, which talks about links and about domain name, importance of branding you etc.

I could use some help on this manner as well!

Sometimes I feel like I have all the tools but I'm too overwhelmed by information. I get bombarded with new information everyday and I just don't have the time to sit and read through everything and it sometimes drives me insane

Anyway my main goal now is to build my landing page. I was using weebly but I realised weebly, altho it allows me to build a nice and attractive site, and although I am getting plenty of visitors, it won't allow me to have an opt in form, so I am not getting any leads. It also won't allow me to perform SEO. So that sucks.

So anyway, I'd appreciate some concrete advice on how to move to another server that isn't too technical, and that would allow me to have my own capture pages. I know Aweber is a good choice, but I've heard some people also use wordpress. I use wordpress as a blog only, how do I go from there?

Thanks and sorry for hijacking the thread lol.

As previously mentioned in some of the other replies, you are ahead of most of the game because you made the effort. You're on the right track for sure.
My thoughts were:
1. I would get my own domain name... i think thats a big help (is recruitmagnet.com available?) i like that title!
2. I would use a form at the bottom to capture leads...other wise its not a capture page...just an intro to your product.

3. 3. Clean it up alittle. At least on my computer the top headline was wrapped around the video.

I have to applaud your effort thou and say keep up the good work.

Remember, every deed produces a seed, and every seed grows when you keep watering it. Keep working at it and you'll reap a bountiful reward. Good Luck!

Hi Carolina,

There are lots of systems out there that will help you building your landing pages, but only few of them will let YOU brand yourself at the front end and not the system or the owner of the system itself.

1. Before joining a system you must check if you are able to customize your landing page. you must check if you can add your own video, your text, your photos and so on...
most of the system wouldn't let you do that.

2. If you are in the mlm/direct sale business you MUST check the funded proposal if the affiliate programs are targeted to your market.

3. If you have already a primary business you must check the ability to promote your primary business.

4. THE MOST IMPORTANT thing is you must check that the system let you build your own list. this the only asset that your business will have. If you don't own your list you don't have a business.

In my opinion using free systems might be very expensive in the long run!!!

Hope i could help.

Have a great day.
P.S. It is snowing here feel like Christmas.

My advice would be to get your OWN website with your own hosting. From my experience I feel review websites work best when you are promoting affiliate products in Google. So if you are promoting Magnetic Sponsoring put up your personal review on your website. Say what you liked about it and how it is changing your life then you would add in your affiliate link for someone to check it out.

Google likes Content so this would probably be your best go.

man seriously, i would suggest you give that page a test.

I see little wrong with it and the only way to tell how well it does is to actually run it. I've spent the past week designing a landing page using all the "right" stuff and it totally flopped. And i mean ZERO conversions!

One thing I would suggest you do is have a "Buy" link straight to the sales letter if you're gonna test this with Google. I'd couple this with a short description of the product and make it look pretty much like a product page from one of those E-Commerce sites. You know the ones?

Have on the side navigation links to the rest of the products and short descriptions with images of the products.

Why i say this is that Google allows you to use its program to
a) Sell your products with an ecommerce site
b) Generate Leads

If doing option #1, You can do different from most other networkers and send people directly to the sales page. If doing option #2, then take the suggestions from the other contributors here and set it up like a proper squeeze page using icontact or other autoresponder. Make your "Thank You" URL take them to the sales page to drop the tracking cookie on their computer so you can earn commissions from them.

The market's always evolving and you can't really assume anything about it. I've seen some of the most WRONG pages (from a marketing perspective) perform amazingly. I posted on my blog about such a page today...was getting a crazy high optin rate.

I suggested the alternative idea above of doing a "e commerce" style product page because that's what Google is asking for from us. They're asking because the searcher is telling them that they HATE our long-form sales letters and the tricky stuff people are doing to generate leads.

When I say tricky, i mean they're not telling people out-right in their ad that the information isn't really "free" it's for the small fee of your email address.

No idea why my landing page didn't work...there's a few suspicions i am investigating.

Hey Jim,

Could you post a sample of one of those e-commerce type pages you are referring to? Or, if that feels too spammy here, could you post a link to a page on your blog/site where you post a link to this type of page? :)

Also, I'm still a little confused about domains with PPC. In another thread, you mentioned that you really only need one hosted account, and one domain name. Does this mean all your display URL's for your various PPC campaigns would actually just be subdomains of your main domain name? That doesn't sound right to me, and I suspect I understood you wrong.

Maybe you were saying you need to buy one domain for each PPC campaign that you are running. I know domains are only about $7/year, but if you are runnning a lot of experimental split-tests, that can really start to add up for the beginner.
