I lost my press release links in my google webmaster tools at one point. I then went and shot some backlinks at them, they reappeared and have remained for months now.

I just want to reiterate that they can work, but need to be part of a bigger backlink strategy.

Yes... I also notice that these disappear over time. And yes.. paid press releases are very expensive. Thanks for your info.

I've written press releases for my clients before and here are a couple of tips to make sure you get some good link juice out of them.

First, the content needs to be good, obviously, and keyword-rich to capitalize on the SEO benefits. Do a little research on what kinds of "pain" your MLM product will help and then research those words. For example, if your product is related to getting out of debt, then make sure you are using related keywords that are in high demand but with low competition. Then, craft your press release to show how your product can solve that problem. Make it unique and newsworthy not a sales letter! For example, if there's a case study you can cite or a unique ingredient or method in your product that makes it stand out from the rest.

Finally, don't forget to share on all your social marketing channels like Facebook, Twitter, etc.

The best free pr site I've used has got to be prlog.org . You can put 3 links within the text of the press release and it's picked up by Google News. Plus, there's a prlog.org business directory. Ya can't beat it!

Press release is also advisable to get quality backlinks that needed by your website. It becomes more effective if you have good list of press release site with good PR.
