Just a quick question about the "Authority Pro" theme, is it paid or free?

I suspect it is paid but just wanted to ask so anyone reading this will know since that question came up in the last few days.

How long have you been using it? What attracted you to it most?

I completely understanding staying with tools that are known. I have recently started to use new tools to increase my SEO reach, and it is more time consuming than I thought it would be to learn them.

I have experienced this problem in my life a number of times.

You may be fast and effective at what you do but it is based on being in a known tool set. It is embarassing how quickly you can become "All Thumbs" just by changing tool sets.

I had a client ask me to upgrade their web presence and make a few simple changes. They were in a site design package I did not use and had an autoresponder system I had not used either.

Even though I knew EXACTLY , "What to DO" which is of course 80% of the battle, getting it done in that new tool set took 5 times more than it should.

Of course now I am familiar with those tools and that will not happen again.

I find that just upgrading a tool like going from Word 2003 to Word 2007 has a learning curve because they move the locations of functions you are using.

Thanks for the recommendations on themes. I am familiar with thesis but the others are new to me.

Since I create sites for clients many of my sites have similar setup starting points that are not the defaults in the theme I use the setup can be time consuming. I actually made a MySql back up file from mysql of a new setup with my defaults and I load it into the mysql database to get a fresh setup done in about 3 minutes in a new directory.

That is an advanced technique but it reminds me of using Ghost to clone hard drives.

I use a very flexible theme called Atahualpa but the SEO needs a plugin to get everything I want.
