The easiest way to get back links indexed is to put the links on a blog or web 2.0 site that is already indexed on the major search engines. There is software available to help you do this like Backlink Energizer. You can also very easily go set up 10 generic blogs on wordpress or blogger or even your own hosting account as "addon domains" or subdomains - use autoblogging software or free content from a service like Unique Article Wizard to keep new posts coming to the site. Then simply post short posts to your own mini blog farm with all your links. Fast, easy, powerful.

Hey whats up guys?

Great post! Honestly I have a few more golden nuggets to add...

1. The great thing about using Web 2.0 sites is that unlike a site that you own you can not get ban. If you were to do some "grey hat" stuff to get links to that Squidoo lens for example, and Google finds out... Google is NOT going to ban Squidoo.com you know? With that said I would not do anything to nuts BUT there are some things you can do that will get that lens ranking quickly and some serious PR like...

* Go to Fivver.com and pay people $5 for links from their PR 3, 4, 5 site to the Squidoo Lens, HubPage, etc.
* Another trick, that again is "grey hat" is to get as many 5 Star ratings for your Lens. You can do this by getting a group of friends and you all rate each others lens 5 stars... OR you can, again, go to Fivver and pay someone $5 to create 20 accounts on Squidoo and rate your lens 5 starts with each.

This can get you into the Top 100 for your category and you will get so many links and traffic and activity from being on Squidoo's home page its not even funny.

WHICH YOU CAN THEN PASS RIGHT ALONG TO YOUR MONEY SITE!!!

2. To get your pages indexed I use all the methods mentioned and also I ping all the search engines and directories every time i make a new post... By taking the URL and going over to http://www.pingoat.com

* Just add your blog URL and blog name, select all the engines and hit "Go Pingoat" and all the search engines will be rushing to your site so fast that their will be traffic on the highway to your site.

* YOU CAN also put some links on Social Media sites like Twitter, Facebook, etc because, believe me when I tell you, the Search Engines are VERY INTERESTED in sites that are being shared on Social Media sites.

* And, of course, the still very relevant Social Bookmarking. Submitting your blog post to Stumble Upon, Digg, and every other Social Bookmarking site can get the Search Engines rushing to your site to index your page at SCREAMING SPEEDS!!!

Alright, those are a few golden nuggets... But again, the #1 is considered "grey hat" and you need to decide if that is something you would like to do... But that is the real benefit of using Web 2.0 sites because you can get away with that type of stuff.

Really n Truly I am completely and totally all about Social Media. But I do a Coaching Club and I teach everything... But I have students that are doing very very well with the techniques mentioned above guys.

FINALLY NOTE, this is the best time for you to be doing this because SEO IS BACK. Google is focusing a lot more on links now because the screwed themselves with Adsense because people started putting 1000's of junk content pages out there just for Adsense. So now Google is looking back to links and also throwing in to the mix Social Media conversations by tracking your rep.

This is a great discussion about backlinks.

I also have the same frustration that many backlinks do not seem to get indexed.

If anyone has a technique that seems to work better for getting backlinks that get indexed quickly I would love to hear about it.

The tactics here for where to put links and layering are all great suggestions but I wonder if we are missing something in the technique that would improve indexing.

My suspicion is that anchor text that is the exact keywords for your keyword optimized pages gets a better result rather than a generic link to the home page which is hard to keyword optimize for more than one keyword group.

Anybody have an opinion on that strategy in regards to the percentage of times the backlink shows up in the google index?

I am also interested in tools that count and display backlinks besides the one in the google webmaster tool kit
