How I Wonder Who You Are

Postby Dennis Bradford on Wed Apr 08, 2009 1:00 pm

Where are you and who are you? Do you really exist? Why are you here? Will you make a difference? Is this really where you want to be? What will you take from being here? Will you make a difference in someones life? Are you going where you want to go or where someone else wants you to go?

Now that is a lot of question and for most people would not make any difference. Most of these question should make you think a little but for many they won't. These are thing that we should think about every once in a while. If we do not ask ourselves questions once in a while do we really know the answers?

I came here to be a member of what I thought would be a great place to meet a lot of people. I figured I could teach a little and maybe learn a little. What I have found is this place is not much different than other social sites. Some people will read what you have written and most people will not comment on it. If you read my stuff I would like a comment. I do not care if it is a good or bad comment. Just let me know, was it good or crap.

Let us all have a great life, when you share what you have others will share with you.

You have been here since 3-20-09 and have only commented on 3 threads , so you need to practice what you preach... and maybe get to know a few people before you start slamming our forum... So I give your post a rating of CRAP... Try to bring a little more to the table next time...

I agree with Marty, social networking sites (life in general for that matter) is not a place to stand around waiting for a handout. It will reward those who go out there and take opportunity by the neck and wrestle it into submission. "For those waiting on a handout, keep waiting" - as I like to say :D

But on a more serious note Dennis,

You should try to get out there more and start interacting with people. Comment, contribute, be social without expecting anything in return <-----this is key. Social networking is about being social, be as personable as you can and just be more active overall and you'll be surprised at how effective this simple advice is. Hope this helps.

We are all guilty at one time or another of just looking and not replying. We try to absorb and see what others have to say about anything we may be having an issue with or just a question about. I know I am just as guilty as the next at times.

I guess my fear is thinking what I write will be taken the wrong way, or worse yet not even read. So I have made a promise to myself to reply to at least 5 posts on my social sites and see who I can connect with.

This is an entirely new arena for me so I may make a mistake in how I respond to things if so please tell me. I truly am here to learn and make connections with others that have been where I am.

I think that Dennis has a point with the series of questions, it is all on how you approach the answers to those those questions. Are we willing to give an honest answer to them or just say what we want to hear? I for one am willing to tell myself the truth and make the necessary changes to move ahead and succeed. Are you?

I have to agree in regards to socialise on here and engage.

I hear you kcjellison09. You will need to have a thick skin as well because some will agree and some won't, but hey, the way I see it, so what if someone doesn't agree. So have a thick skin, you'll be fine. Actually I find the BN community great, maybe a few times I had met some I don't bother chatting any longer with but apart from that, it's awesome.

People may not agree what one writes or replies, but that's ok, but don't let them scare you off either. Speak your mind, but also be courteous too, which sometimes can be difficult even for me, but hey, I see this place as great training.

You can always unsubscribe when the thread gets nuts  and if someone just gives a lot of crap and bs or you feel, clash of personality, . I sometimes do a great thing. I unsubscribe cause I can't be bothered with it.

I think the post was good and the responses were good too. when I first read the post, I thought that dennishmt was just trying to get a rise out of people, which he did :) Sometimes I think people just want to stir things up in the forums, it brings "HOT" ratings to your post

I don't know about every other networker here but I like the freedom of commenting only when I feel moved to do so. Therefore I accept others doing the same.

Besides, Don't think our community could handle it if every hater decided to leave some snide comment out of obligation to reply after reading.

I've seen people articles get voted into the negative with all the "thumb downs" their article received... now thats gotta bite! :?

Just look at the replies here... WOW, Marty  , Please feel free to NOT comment if you ever feel that way about any of my content. I shall take your lack of commenting as enough said  .

Maybe your answers would spark a meaningful discussion Dennis. Seems rhetoric otherwise :)

It's called accountability. And if we all can't be accountable to each other, then who can you be accountable to? After all, network marketing is about team building. An excellent book to read on teams is by Patrick Lencioni, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team. It is a very fast read and it provides good insight on accountability.
