I feel strongly about emails. It is so easy to get distracted and spend too much time reading and/or responding to emails. Most times i opt in to an autoresponder list I give an email address i use expressly for opt-in box requests.
If I give one of my 1st tier email addresses, I will opt out if I get more than one email a week. The ones I have are from people who I know - or hope - will never send inane emails.
So I think emailing more than once a week is too much. And that once a week email must enhance my life in some way or I unsubscribe quickly.
Maybe because I am so distractable, but I am ruthless about email clutter in my inbox.

Like others have suggested, 2-3 per week are plenty. Enough that they will remember you but not so much to bug them. Too many will surely cause a lot to unsubscribe.

In my opinion,
It all depends on the email sender and if it's information I really, really, really want. Other than that no more than one a day. Even then it's a bit much for me unless I specifically signed up for a list that emails once a day. That's my 2 cents.

That's why they have an "unsubscribe" link in the emails.
"Use It."
"Use It."
