Re: Mobile Marketing..Give me a Break!
For me I have not even explored it. I know that the Mobile phone and internet access is still in its infancy. As the technology improves we will i am sure be doing it. On the other hand my premise is learn one thing well first. If you haven't learned how to generate a lead on the internet, then mobile technology is not for you.

I agree with most on this thread that it not worth the time or money to market the mobile industries. That being said,we should still pay attention to this ever growing industry. With more and more people owning smart phones its only going be a matter time when this type of marketing will be effective. Where was video marketing 3-4 years ago?

Re: Mobile Marketing..Give me a Break!
I am very selective about who I give my personal cell phone number to. If I do not recognize the number or name that pops up on the screen - I don't answer it. If it's important, they can leave a voicemail.
When I DO get an advertizement on my personal phone, I immediately look around for a stalker in the bushes, so to speak. HOW did they get my number?? ARGH!
I have several e-mail accounts with perfectly good junk folders for advertizements, offers, or notifications that I am the sole heir to Zibweg from the planet Zoltar, and never have to work again. Please...Please use those, creepy phone hijacker marketers. Yes, I said it...CREEPY!
A person would have much better luck knocking on my front door - at least then I could get a look at 'em. It wouldn't be a nameless, faceless "someone" who has my personal information. Although, if you do knock on my door, bring your A-game - I like to mess around with skin products, and there is no telling what kind of goop I may have smeared on my face when I answer it.
(You get 10 points for not falling down the steps backing away from me, door-to-door salesmen. LOL)

I don't think there is one person in this world who would say "Wow. I just got a text about this company offering their service. That's great!"
It's just annoying. People use their cellphones to communicate with people. Receiving ads on a cellphone would be so frustrating to most people.
I don't think Mobile Marketing is going to the right direction. That's just an opinion, though.

Although, I do not doubt that, in time, it will change. I see "do not contact" lists coming for that too.
Actually for those that use mobile marketing, you are the one that has to opt-in and at anytime if you text back "stop" you will no longer be in the email market campaign. The best part of mobile marketing is the give away. It can be a product, training, mentoring... what ever you choose it to be.
Most mobile marketing companies have an anti-spam build into the system. You can't send more that "_____" number of texts each month. This keeps those that do it right honest and helps build trust. Most people today do carry an unlimited text plan. So you just have to weigh you marketing techniques and see which is the best for you. There are some great companies out there that will help you track and see conversions for mobile marketing. http://trumpia.com is really good. They market, video, social media, and text. Great company. A little more limiting is CMSText.com.
There are tons of companies out there but this two I am currently working with.
I am not making a commission off these guys... just sharing good information.
