The don't ask stay broke policy

Postby neisha simpson on Thu Sep 23, 2010 9:17 am

Now I believe if you don't ask questions you will never know anything . Like marketing ....networking is based communicating with leaders or like minded people to share value . I've seen tons and tons of people do things that are truly unethical.....they simply just do not know . It seems to me that the ones that are really trying to learn as much as possible about this industry are the ones that actually have the toughest time .The ones that did it old school style with no experience what so ever were the ones that actually made it.why is that I wonder? I remember what my up line told me...which was get 5 ....get 5 five ...get 5....but if you can't 2 or 3 . I think teaching people to do this is not right ......5 people can not make up a whole down line ....if your team can't get those 5 people ...then their out of here ! I remember I would talk to my sponsor about educational materials ...their version of educational materials were catalogs..... fliers....business cards...car magnets...door hangers....signs..etc...etc...they didn't car about "how to win friends and influence people", "think and grow rich","the one minute millionaire","rich dad poor dad","rich woman", none of that applied to them . When my sponsor couldn't teach what I needed to know, I found others to nurture my growth. If you do not ask questions even if you think they are stupid...do not expect the results to come flooding in at rapid speed . No question is stupid..you will not know everything. I'm just glad that I'm in a position where I can network with other leaders...to show me what my up line did not teach me .

I agree with you,Neisha! Remember your upline is hard wired to a certain schedule. They know what works for them and their industry at that time. Old school methods do not work all the time. We have to break away from these old worn out methods of getting customers. I am trying new methods too. We know better, or rather, we know different to get better at getting customers and train our downlines. Continue to educate yourself and learn your products and ask questions all the time. Helping others to achieve their goals will improve your professional image, also. These are just somethings that your upline do not teach you. Keep on working at this and stay strong.

Remember what you said, Neisha. If you don't ask stay broke! We are here to learn and get away from being broke. So, if you don't ask, then you can stay broke.
Have a healthy day! :D

I still had to think about this: 'the don't ask stay broke policy'. If you don't ask stay broke policy may lead to don't ask try something else policy. It one doesn't work, always try something else that will eventually work. What one policy may work for somebody else may not work for you. So, try something else that does work. Have a happy day!

Neisha, I've heard it said that the only dumb questions are the ones that aren't asked & if you want to advance faster you'd better start asking better questions. Good for you for seeking out the knowledge you craved when your own upline couldn't answer.
Personal development is our most powerful tool in this industry, shame on them for not being a better mentor. I am sure that you learned from their mistakes & have come out stronger yourself from it.
Many blessings to you!

Hi Neisha, there is a lot of truth to what you speak. I've often wondered how those 15, 20 years ago succeeded without all the technology out there today. One reason I believe they were successful is because they got in at the right time. Not that now is the wrong time, but the industry was much less saturated. There was fewer marketers then than now, and maybe not so many businesses to choose from. Another reason is because "Old School" marketing works! The simple word-of-mouth, talking to people really does help grow your business. Make it a goal to talk to at least 4-5 people per day about your business and you'd be surprised how well that works. Nowadays we have many options to marketing our businesses and it has taken us away from the old school ways that worked.

But you're on the right track; talk to people, ask questions. That's the only way to learn is to ask. Best of luck :D
