I like this one:
Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary.

"People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway.

If you are successful you will win some false friends and true enemies; Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; It was never between you and them anyway.
"

I've been exposed to so many great quotes since getting involved in this industry, it's hard to pick a favorite. Here are a few that stand out in my mind.

A winner says, "It may be difficult, but it's possible."
A loser says, "It may be possible, but it's too difficult."
- UNKNOWN

"When you want something you have never had, you have got to do something you have
never done."
- MIKE MURDOCK

"There are many more people trying to meet the right person than to become the right
person."
- GLORIA STEINEM

"Failure is the path of least persistence"
- GREG PROVENZANO

I'll leave with one that my grandmother always used to say. I only recently began to understand what she meant.

"Can't means won't"

Great thread Raymond.

My contribution is very short although I have found that length
has little bearing on how powerful a quotation might be. This
one states how I feel about the subject better than any other
way I could describe it.

This thread certainly has legs!

Every person who wins in any undertaking must be willing to cut all sources of retreat. Only by doing so can one be sure of maintaining that state of mind known as a burning desire to win - essential to success.

Mine is not a quote, rather a verse from The Bible - Isaiah 61: 1-2

"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn..."
