What would you do???

Postby Ronny Abraham on Sun May 18, 2008 6:56 am

Just curious....

If you knew a person in your MLM was doing well with the "same" system you are using...

and you ask them how they are doing it.....What answer would you expect from them?

A. That is only for "my downline"

B. Sure I will help you, what do you want to know?

C. Only if it can make me some money

D. I am selfish, so go find your own answer.

Well, I did just that about a day ago after someone posted something about their success on these forums. What I got was answer A. which to me translates to C. and D. also. I was very disappointed. I personally help anyone I have time for. He calls himself a champion too. How ironic is that? Anyway, ALL comments welcome.

I would expect a lending hand just as I would extend a lending hand.

I think it depends on the color of the person...since I am mostly yellow, I would help out.

It all depends on what Is is doesn't it?
Help and motivation are not always the
best of friends. Why would I not want to
see you succeed in the business you are
currently in? If I built a relationship
with you and you proved to be a good leader
as well as follower would that not be
helpful? If we teamed up down the road and
became one of the best partnerships ever
then would I not help you now with achieving
your goals? If I thought you only wanted to
use me for your own selfish means ....well
where do we stand then? :( ...I try my best
to give away what I have learned, but when
things don't work out for the other person then
sometimes....things get ugly because of an
unmet expectation that probably was not a realistic
one in the first place. Give and give...what
works for me may not ever work for you...but
I never want to stop learning or growing so
you may become my new best friend..

I'd initially be a little disappointed as well. But we are all human; even our leaders are flawed. If I realized someone I looked up to didn't "get it," I would seek someone else out to learn from, and build a relationship with.

On the flipside, if someone approached me, I'd offer some kind of guidance, because I enjoy helping others.

Blessings,

Part of our Personal Growth in the MLM industry involves the understanding of this statement I am going to give you.

"There are some people who are IN MLM and then there are those who have MLM IN them."
~Karen Umstattd~

When this makes sense, although we may not agree with this situation, it helps in understanding this situation therefore making it easier for us to just move on FROM this situation instead of focusing on it.

"Holding on to resentment and anger is like grasping hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else. You are the one who is getting burned". ~ Author Unknown ~

well I would expect answer A...but I wouldn't take it personally. Maybe they're just too busy. Maybe is easier if you call them. It's easier to explain something over the phone than it is writing it.

Just my 2 cents :)

Upline, downline or not even in line, so long as you are in the same MLM you should do what you can to help the invidual and company grow. You never know when you will need a little help.

Ok Friend please lend some more info on the "color" of a person and why you are a "yellow" Some folks have no clue what you just said there. I know of Red Blue Yellow and White but please clarify

This note posted before I read all of the replies, so advance apologies if already noted later in forum

I think it would have been nice (and professional) for him to offer you a few basic tips about how to succeed with the system. I would not expect him to divulge all the details that he teaches his personal group, though. In many network marketing organizations there is the issue of "crosslining" - which means providing advice to others in the same business but not in your personal group. It is generally not advisable. That may have been a consideration.

Bottom line though, it wouldn't have hurt him to give you a friendly response and some general pointers - I would just move on and be determined to go over and above his level of success! :)
