where do they draw the line

Postby Roger Crews on Wed Oct 13, 2010 10:39 am

This is more of a question than a sound off. Here in ABN where do they draw the line . In another forum here i have had the displeasure of looking at a post of interest only to see a argument between everybody there and one other person who i have yet to see post anything of value to that post or any where else for that matter. there is only bashing and an attempt to discredit someone there no one left out of there attack !

This is not why i joined ABN. And i dont really think this is why ABN was put together in the first place .
I thought this was a place to learn and share and brain storm with each other . As well as a place to share a business you believe in because here are where the better networkers are and call home so to speak . I have invited only 1 person to ABN so far , but at this time i cant bring myself to invite any others for most of what they are going to see is who i am speaking of. which for what its worth I have been around long enough to have heard of the whos whos in the internet world and networking world . i have never heard of this person until joining ABN
My time is made up of the better part of 30+ yrs and having been a part of some of the biggest companies in the world and been taught from some of the greatest speakers there are and where Mr Jim Rohn to drop name .

I have just realized I have just set my own self up for the same crap and bashing but just maybe if nothing else someone else will be left alone for a little bit and maybe someone who counts here will do something about it

I see you point, Roger. Don't sweat the small stuff. We are here to converse and learn about our businesses and how to conduct it. There is no need to interfere with an argument among an inexperienced and well known authors. Sometimes we learn through controversy. I have met some people who if you were not yelling and cursing at them, they would not hear you. If I have to yell and curse at someone then I can do without. Let them figure it out themselves. This is all small stuff. You can draw the line where you want it.

You are right sir . I am sure you know what I am referring to . After seeing some post to a different subject by same person i wonder if it was all a hiding plan .

Before in the other one there was some serious bashing going on , you would have though somebody was about to be kicked out .

Then in the next post the person is being praised . hmmmmmmm go figure. after seeing that , it would lead you to believe any thing goes here . well almost . but as you said the best thing to do here out is get the good from what you can ignore the rest.

My biggest problem tho still remains . when i find something good to follow and check my email , an told there has been a new post to what i am following , I hope to see value , not bashing and stuff .

Hi Roger and Mario,

I couldn't agree more. Betternetworker is a place where we can all learn from each other and inspire others. I believe there is no room here for negativity and "bashing". I believe when someone writes and article or recorded a video that it takes much time and effort. So when someone comes up and offers no value and is criticizing people because they disagree, this is just wrong. So we are all here for the same reason and most of us have different ideas and we just need to be respectful and also help others as much as we can. It all goes back to our purpose and why we are building our businesses. :P

Hi Roger. I don't believe in personal bashing in any way shape or form but the ideas some people put out are pure garbage. And that should be open to constructive criticism. To allow that to go on is to sanction someone being led down the garden path. That is unacceptable as well.

Larry Winget in his book "Shut Up, Stop Whining and Get a Life" puts it this way: "Criticism becomes dangerous when it is directed about who someone is, not what they do." He goes on to say "I attack stupidity. I attack laziness. I attack bigotry. I attack hypocrisy. I attack dishonesty. I am not attacking people. I only attack their actions."

That is an excellent view point in my opinion. We have people on here who are out and out liars being held up as leaders. We have people on here who are not making a dime but are putting themselves out as successful entrepreneurs. Some "criticism" if you choose to call it that is required to pop some of these people out of their navel gazing efforts.

Unfortunately, there are those out there that are uneducated in the proper etiquette of network marketing and/or being successful in a homebased business and therefore vent their frustrations through that type behavior. Bashing and criticizing others is not what forums and messageboards are about. To that end, we should keep in mind that in public forums such as these there is a chance that this type of behavior will occur. We should stay positive and continue to educate so that those responses will diminish.

Tama

Put your capture page link away mate. The policy of this forum is all links in signature and that link, was never asked by anyone here, anyway.

If you're talking about etiquette of networking, then there's one here...

1. Don't give a link snidely, when no one asked for it in first place.
2. Teach what you do.

Most people too nice here to say it.

Your capture page says, what? If people can't figure out all this online marketing.

Have you figured it out then?

I'm being blunt with you for a reason. If someone says they figured it out, they then better live by that motto and headline.

Now, most see this as a criticism. I don't give a toss! That's their problem. Get a backbone and see what people are saying. Far too many stepping up, saying one thing and do something else.

Because if any was mentored by me, they'd be balling in tears, like some baby.

Go to mama, she'll give some emotional understanding and a nice pep talk. This is the biz quadrant. And if anyone going to teach, then stand up on your own feet and talk back then.

People take things so personal. You need a backbone in the business world. Don't take things personally. Let it go.

It's a community of loads of people, with different personalities. Some hot heads, some not, some quiet, some shy. Some downright freaking annoying and want pampering.

Beginners, if you're going to comment, sharing value, leave your links aside and get to know how the community here works.

Give first and if someone asks for your link, ok cool. You'll love it here and anywhere, if you give value. Do something, get results, then bang it on articles or video. Let that talk for yah.

At least give first.

And don't take anything personal.

If you don't believe that was you, if you don't believe, then don't fret. Shrug it off, cause it ain't you.

That's how I see it.

Heck, people can ram their words at me too. I ain't going to take it personal. It's cool by me. Go ahead, fire away. No problemo.
