use Windows movie maker is a free and easy way, but you can not retain animations transitions and audio track that a really PowerPoint should have. Your presentation will be a dull thing.

The easiest way to do this is to get Camtasia Studio. It has a setting to recode video and it has instructions how to do it. If you don't want to purchase the software, below is a link to a tutorial that explains how to convert PowerPowerpoing to video:

Hope this helps.

Wow,
That video Jackie Ulmer did on page 1 was great!

Anyway, this post is so old now, there are heaps of great tools out there and by the looks of it our man has his answer :D
Jing and Screenr are free and awesome to use as screen capture software.
Screenr free, is only 5 mins, but that's more than enough for a nice Powerpoint pres.
Liked the idea of the Google docs one too...
Thanks all,
I'm learning heaps!

Kindest :)

You don't have to buy anything, save your powerpoint as a movie file, however, if you want something even nicer...

We used to use Camtasia if it was a PC project, or Screenflow if you have a Mac, similar to Camtasia but less expensive, simpler and better IMO. If you have a Mac, you are blessed, it is the best system to create movies using the software that comes with it like Imovie, way superior to movie maker, and of course Screenflow that is less than half the price of Camtasia.
