Help Me Transfer My Incredimail Email Records to Gmail ASAP!

Postby shane anciso on Mon Dec 22, 2008 8:59 pm

Could not find an article through the search engine on this topic so if there is one please simply point me that way.

Otherwise I would like to ask if anyone knows how to forward A MASSIVE AMOUNT OF EMAIL RECORDS from an Incredimail account to an Gmail account.

As a matter of opinion I have found that the people of Google are positioning themselves to rule the world (legally & in killing with niceness I might add  ) & would like to join their email bandwagon along with everything else Google that my computer has been converting & updating to lately (HEY! WHEN DID MY SCREENSAVER CHANGE TO A PICTURE OF GOOGLE MUGS !? )

You see, I have not found any helpful information what so ever between the help logs, forums, & customer support of both Incredimail & Gmail Email account services.

HAS ANYONE OUT THERE FELT MY PAIN!? WHAT DID YOU DO?

WHAT STEPS DID YOU TAKE?

You see, what I am trying to do is get rid of my Incredimail account and switch over to a Gmail account but there is still about 1000+ emails that I want to take with me to my Gmail account (personal & business records) and so far I have tried everything but individually forwarding each email from Incredimail to myGmail account.

(seriously, I do not have the time, mentality, nor patience to forward each individual email takes my button stressed fingers at least a minute to forward the darn thing with the way Incredimail's system works! :ugeek:  )

Help anyone?

Hi Shane
never used incredimail so not too sure how it operates. You can set up gmail to 'fetch' the mail from your incredimail account. check out the instructions here.
Okay, I finally opened up.

Check out how I can help you.

If your emails are POP accessible the top comment should work fine. If you have already downloaded all your email to a client and they no longer reside on the server, you have a problem.

Thanks guys for the posts while I was gone for Xmas (no eggnog this year, just a lot of turkey & roast beef :? ) (many of my family members I fear will be needing a whole lot of help in their health & fitness this year and oh my gosh we just lost Timmy, oh Sandra's sitting on him, ohh wow  this Xmas has gone completely nuts, no tTimmy I don't want any nuts thank you  )

Anyway, San, I will apply the advice you gave first thing tomorrow and let you know if it worked or not but I fear that I may have done just what Matthew warned against & therefore, if it is so, am open to problem solvers

UPDATE

Bad news, all of my email has been / is transferred to Incredimail's server & now my email records no longer reside on the server (outlook express 5.0)

I also got the run around from Incredimail, apparently they don't understand my issue no matter how I describe it to them in 15 ways to a HONYACK! :x  )

By the way, their tech support is only online and really only puts priority on paid members for their animated email products.

Thus it would explain why my Gmail account shows that it is checking for new emails from my email account because their is nothing to check in my Outlook Express account as all email records and incoming mail to that server are redirected by Incredimail to their server, which acts like an add on to my Outlook Express account.

And, as you may haveguesses, if I pull the plug on uninstalling the Incredimail account from my Outlook Express account all of my email records go out the window.

Any ideas, comments, or input on this situation would be appreciated.

Three steps to this.. in many many pieces, but this will get you started.
1. Move everything incredimail into outlook or outlook express. The easy way to do this is to use a $20 program called "ABC amber outlook converter" it will suck the emails and folders out of incredimail. You can use incredimail's built in export tool to get the contacts, just import them to outlook in csv format.

2. Once you have moved the data to outlook, goto gmail and have pull down their tool to suck email/contacts from outlook. This will move your old email and contacts up to gmail.

At this point you should not be opening outlook or incredimail ever again.

3. Inside of Gmail, under settings, there is a spot to have Gmail check an outside account. This is where the configuration stuff goes that USED to allow incredimail to get email from the internet. Once you put your pop, imap, etc stuff in here GMAIL will collect email from the old email address, as well as from the @gmail.com account.

Now your done. You should have Gmail, out on the internet, with all your old email, contacts and able to receive all email sent to your old account, as well as anything sent to the @gmail.com address.

have problems? I can fix for monies! 501-259-2938, remote support!

Susan,

I was just trying to do this the other day, but couldn't find the right pathway...So thanks for the input. I was able to set it up in about 3 clicks once I got into my gmail account. I had had issues where aol will only hold 1000 email and therefor had some get bounced as it was full when I had been on vacation etc,

There is good tool which works with mails and passwords too-forgot password to .pst file. This tool helped me many times and has free status as far as I remember. Moreover software can too retrieve forgotten or lost passwords for Microsoft Outlook email client or for files with *.pst extension.
