Interesting dialog and philosophy discussion.

Through my design firm I create fully functional wordpress blogs for clients. Traffic to a clients blog is hard to come by usually and so i recommend against using adsense as it can distract your traffic to other peoples ads.

If you are using your own blog site such as wordpress it is easy to ad the adsense code just like any other snippet of code it you really do intend to have it there.

Follow the google adsense account set up and eventually you will get a short code snippet that you paste in the page where you want it to show.

I also agree with the comments about traffic and commission.

It takes a lot of traffic to generate much income from adsense.

A well written testimonial into an affiliate sale will earn you more money. Even posting a testimonial about your use of one of the Mike Dillard products and an affiliate link to that can be an income producer rather quickly
