I am personally a Mac user, and as you have seen there is iMovie which is great for editing, transitions, titling, and audio cuts. There is also the older version of iMovie HD which in my opinion is a little bit easier to use, but not as flexible.
As mentioned above, there is also animoto... what is good about them is they have music you can add in the background, where you do not have to worry about copyrights. I've actually seen some very nice work come out of that site.
No matter what you are using to get some good side effects, nice transitions, and more options, you will have to spend a couple of bucks to jazz it up. Remember if the video is for a business or a video to promote yourself, that may take a small investment.

CamStudio is the old version of Camtasia Studio -- made by TechSmith. They have a network marketers version -- that adds the watermark option back in -- for $10 or less. Or CamStudio is free -- just google it.
