php and wordpress consultant needed

Postby Marius Lombaard on Mon Jan 24, 2011 3:52 am

hi,

i'm looking for someone who understands php and wordpress plugin development well, to do some freelance consulting for me. i am a junior programmer but know nothing of php or wordpress plugin development.

i would describe what i want to accomplish in an email to this person, and have them send me a quote before answering my question and i would accept/reject/negotiate the quote.

the idea is that i can get some detailed answers (at a reasonable price and only as needed) and learn to do some advanced things with wordpress on an as-needed basis - basically i want to be able to do it myself but I pay you for consulting me on the "how".

typical answers would be code samples and explanations

anyone interested?

pm me with your email address.

cheers

Hello Friend. To be honest with you, the best thing you could do is get you some books on Wordpress and PHP and start learning the basics of both programming in php and how wordpress actually works. It appears that what you really want is to learn this yourself...I would just bite the bullet and start learning via resources that are already out there.

Here is some documentation on Wordpress.

Here is a free tutorial on PHP
http://www.w3schools.com/php/default.asp

If you truly want to learn, then this would be the best way in my opinion. Teaching you how to do something with Wordpress via PHP could get very complicated, especially with your limited knowledge of programming.

Start building yourself a reference library with online resources as well as books, etc. and develop your knowledge and skills. There's just no substitute for learning how to do things yourself. Good luck, Kerry

i don't really have time to learn php and wordpress plugin development that extensively because my current job is focused on C# dotnet development.

i prefer the consulting because i only want to do some minor customizations for my own blog and eCommerce site - not because i want to advance my career in php and wordpress. This way i can focus my attention on my current job and the skills required there instead, while not having to search extensively for answers in my personal endeavors with wordpress.

thanks anyway, but i'm still taking any consultants on board.

if you have a paypal account you can quote me through the money request feature.

those interested, pm me with your email.

take care.

Hello Marius--

I am a WordPress consultant and programmer. I would be more than happy to discuss your requirements and see if we might be good fit for each other.

Unfortunately, I cannot PM you until we are connected. To that end, I have sent an Association request. I look forward to hearing back from you.
