Using "Inc" in domain name- Misleading? Trouble?

Postby Patricia DiMaggio on Sat Sep 24, 2011 10:02 am

After reading Mike Dillard's domain report that came with Magnetic Sponsoring I purchased 3 domains from go daddy with the name "patriciadimaggioinc". I was told a couple of days by an aquaintance with many years of business experience that according to Arizona's corporate commision this in not allowed because it is misleading, unless I am actually incorporated. Unfortunately it's too late to refund the domains.

Should I leave them the way they are are get new ones with just my name and forward the old sites? Does anyone else have a business name like "inc" in their domains?

I don't really want to incorporate at this point since it wouldn't be worth the 800 bucks a year for me..

Thanks!

... Or you could just incorporate yourself.

It's just a few pieces of paper, and it only costs a few hundred dollars. Most any lawyer can do it.

Anyway, why did you use the name "Inc." in the first place?
If what you have is so great, why are you asking people to sign up for it? Shouldn't THEY be asking YOU? Sign up for this Free MLM Boot Camp. Click HERE.

Thanks Kaleem. I got some new domains without the inc instead. Next year when I meet my goal of 10,000 bonus from my opportunity I'll start thinking about setting up a corporation. I also need to read "Inc and Grow Rich" first.

My new website is:

Patricia,
You may be misleading when you use "Inc" in your domain name or decide to incorporate later.
Since you are a sole owner you may want to start out as a "LLC." As a "LLC" a Limited Liablility Corporation you can be one owner limited liability corporation.
An "Inc" involves several people and a lot of legal jargon that would take up a lot of space to explain here.
I stuck with being a LLC and I can grow from there to incorporate when the business gets larger.
The main thing is to separate your business life from your personal life. Leave your emotions to your personal life. This is a business and you have to run it as such.
Good luck!
