Video hosting

Postby Stephens Modise on Mon Feb 21, 2011 6:28 am

Hi everyone,

I'd like to upload a screen capture video presentation that I've just created. Youtube is acting up and pretty darn slow. And, because it's on MLM I'm afraid they'll take it down?

Will you kindly advice on another source for video hosting or uploading? Your assistance will be highly appreciated.

Regards

Stephens--

You could use http://screencast.com, although I find their presentation of videos to be unattractive. http://vimeo.com is another choice.

I personally use Amazon S3 for most of my video hosting. It requires a bit of setup, and the use of a video player. You can get players from http://longtailvideo.com and http://flowplayer.org. Both have Wordpress plugins to help you embed your videos. If you have trouble with setting any of these up, please feel free to contact me for assistance.

I use GVO for web and video hosting, which is a lot like Amazon S3; so I would recommend just using Amazon or GVO if you want to be professional.

I use EzS3 and it works well. It is about $20 a month not including the price for Amazon S3.

Re EZS3 - it's also very good.

The major differences between the two are the following:

1. With EZS3, it's still possible to access the underlying flv or mp4 file for personal download, but with EVP2.1, if it is possible at all, it's 100x harder. This is good if you have a membership site with embedded videos, and you don't want them appearing on some BlackHat forum or on a torrent

2. EVP2.1 is a one-off payment; EZS3 has a monthly fee. But EVP2.0 is a larger capital outlay.

3. EVP2.1 has many more features, which are useful for internet marketing. Having said that, there's no doubt that EZS3 will continue to roll out extra bells & whistles that are of likewise benefit to marketing online.

4. Mark Dulisse's video site map recognises EVP2.1 & EZS3 embedded videos on your site, giving you better change to rank more highly for competitive keywords through videos you produce.

I guess you can probably see where my bias is :D
