I am really suprised by how many recommendations there are for HostGator!!!

I for one would not recommend them and know numerous web admins that have had issues with their service levels when trying to run larger sites. They may be fine for a small content/traffic sites but I would suggest looking at a better provider for long term stability.

I own and operate several online ventures and host all of them on managed dedicated server(s) via Ubiquity Hosting (I have a referral code if you would like one, just contact me). My largest site sees about 30k unique visitors a day with about 60k-100k visits daily if you count the returning traffic. - I have never had an issue of consequence and their support has been top notch.

I would STRONGLY suggest researching companies and shared hosting packages prior to signing on with anyone. If the service is cheap then so is the product STAY AWAY. Shared hosting tends to be oversold and when (not if) you get a few sites that are resource hogs on your server it will take yours down so beware.

James Buchan is absolutely right here. HG is good web host, but it doesn't mean rest of the all are useless. When someone ask feedback on web host mostly we just get people leap on page and vote for the one they currently use or they currently promoting to earn money through affiliate business.

I think that one fact needs to be repeated. When you are searching for hosting services, then first of all you need to understand your needs, and understand what each hosting company can do for you. Researching, that is essential so don't forget to contact a lot of web hosts before picking one. It is helpful for the comparison.

yes, the HostGator have a good technicall support, but at the end of the day, everyone before setting up a website must think about their needs, and goals.
Ourselves [ Link Removed By Admin ] have our hosting servers in Germany so is suitable to European customers where they can get internet ip local presence in Europe and fast connections, so mainly, our clients hosted with us are from European countries.

Hi Travis,
Not sure if this was asked and answered but what do you need it for. If you are using it for just some squeeze pages and wordpress sites, a shared hosting plan should be perfect for you. Hostgator and Bluehost are the most popular. I personally use Bluehost but they are one in the same for the most part.

I second Hostmonster. I have about 12 websites on their server and get great customer service.
